Africa is second largest continent in size and the second largest continent in population.
The African continent is located mainly in the Eastern Hemisphere and to the major part in the Northern Hemisphere.

Did you know that Africa is bigger than the USA, Canada and India together? Africa covers an area larger than 30 million square kilometres/ 11.7 million square miles!

𝟭. There are 𝟱𝟰 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 - and 9 dependent territories. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟭.𝟯 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 people live on the African continent. This means about 15% of the world's total population live in Africa!

𝟮. 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆: Algeria. This country is among the ten largest countries in the world.
The most populous country in Africa, however, is Nigeria, with more than 219 million people, but the country is only a third of the size of Algeria.

𝟯. 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆: Lagos in Nigeria. With more than 22 million inhabitants, Lagos is also one of the biggest metropolitan cities in the world and is estimated to become the world's largest city by 2100 with more than 100 million inhabitants!

𝟰. 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆: Seychelles, which is an archipelago (nation of islands) in the Indian Ocean. On the African mainland, the smallest country is The Gambia. Read our Seychelles Facts here.

𝟱. 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱: Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world - after Greenland, New Guinea and Borneo.

𝟲. 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿: Nile (6,852 km/ 4,258 miles). The Nile is the longest river in the world and passes through eleven countries. The Nile has two sources: The White Nile coming from Lake Victoria in Tanzania and the Blue Nile coming from Lake Tana in Ethiopia. The river mouth is in Egypt. The confluence in Khartoum/Sudan.

The Cairo - Cape Town project... the first transcontinental road between Egypt and its brothers from the African continent. The road crosses 9 African countries, starting from Egypt, passing through Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Gabon to end in South Africa. By the completion of the project in 2024, Cairo will be a link for transporting goods from Europe and Asia to Africa. Any investor can transport his goods to any of the countries through which the road passes in a record time of no more than 4 days, unlike the sea, which takes months.

AFRICA AND CAPITALIST EXPLOITATION

Africa has always been an extraordinarily important region, marked since the dawn of time by its natural riches and the exuberance of its fauna and flora.

The continent known as the cradle of humanity was a protagonist in Antiquity, a period in which kingdoms and empires stood out for their opulence and wealth.

However, with the dawn of capitalism, from the 15th century onwards, Africa began to be the preferred target of the greed of the European metropolises of that period.

Thus, European kingdoms turned their greedy eyes to the riches of the African continent. They kidnapped and sold their people as merchandise and made Africa their private backyard through colonial exploitation.

In the 19th century, the first settlers were joined by other nations eager for the raw materials that abounded in African soils.

Thus, they divided Africa among themselves, disregarding the ancestral territories of different peoples. After the independence of these colonies, civil wars took place in profusion because of this historical arbitrariness.

For all it suffered in its past of exploitation, Africa, with its exuberant past, today symbolizes poverty and human degradation.

Brazil even owes an eternal debt to Africa and its people, enslaved in our land for more than three centuries.

Africa contributed decisively to the construction of Brazil and to the beauty of its people. As for me, I'm very proud of the black blood that runs through my veins.

THE STRONGEST MAN IN SINGAPORE

1. In Singapore there was a mango tree. It was in the middle of a big forest. Its fruit was the delicious in all of Singapore. There where very many bad animals and insects in the forest. A lot of people had tried to go there and get some of the fruit to eat but they were not able to. They were always driven away by the animals. Even the strongest men were not able to get to the mango tree. For many years the sweet fruit was eaten by animals and insects.

2. One day, the king of Singapore asked his chiefs to find the strongest man in Singapore. He wanted this man to gather some fruit from the mango tree for him.

3. One of the chiefs came to the king's house one day. He knelt down ad greeted the king. Then he said. "Sir, I know a man who can bring you home fruit from the mango tree. He is called Badang.

4. The king said. “Go and bring him here.” The chief went and brought Badang to the king's house. When the king saw him he said. "I'm glad 16 see you, Badang. You are bigger than any man I have ever seen, I'm sure you are the biggest man in the whole of my country.”
Badang said, “Thank you. Sir.”

5. The king asked Badang to go to the forest, to gather some fruit from the mango tree for the king.

6. Badang went alone in a boat about twenty-one meters long. He took an axe and cut down a trunk of a tree about one meter thick. This was used to push the boat.

7. When he got to the forest, he climbed up the mango tree. He climbed on to a very big branch to gather the fruit. Suddenly the branch was broken because Badang was too heavy for it. He fell to the ground. He hit his head on a rock. The rock split into two pieces but Badang did not feel any pain at all. He gathered lots and lots of mangoes from the broken branch. He took them to the king.

8. When the king saw all the mangoes, he was very pleased. Badang was given a lot of cows by the king.

9. After some time, the king of Singapore wanted a large boat about twenty-seven meters long to be built. It was built on the beach in front of his house. The King said, “When the boat is built, it will be used by many people to travel far and near. It will be known as the as the largest boat in the world.”

10. When it was finished, the king told about fifty people to push it down to the sea. They pushed and pushed but they couldn't move it an inch.

11. Then the king asked three hundred men to try. They pushed very hard But they also were not able to move the boat.

12. At last the king called Badang to push it. All alone Badang easily pushed the boat down to the sea and put it in the water.

13. The king and all the people who were there said that Badang was the biggest and the strongest man of all!

14. Half of the king's land was given to Badang. He was also made the head of the king's soldiers. All the other countries were afraid to fight Singapore because people knew that Badang was the strongest man of all. The people of Singapore lived in peace as long as Badang lived.

Here are the names of the Zulu Kings, from the ones that were refused recognition by the British and were called Chiefs. Recently the prime minister of the Zulu nation rebuked someone calling him a Chief.

After Britain took the land of the Zulu nation and made the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal a Protectorate of the United Kingdom, in settlement for peace after annexation of their land and recognised King Shaka as a former Head of State under British monarchy.

A myth that needs to be dismissed and rebuked by all of us. If this nonsensical history of the British if is taken seriously that simply means the Zulu nation started to have a King after 800 years of Xhosa nation having Kings.

The first Xhosa King reigned in 1210 to 1248 while the British claim the Zulu monarchy started in 1816. To those who believe King Shaka was the first King of the Zulu nation, you believe the settler colonial history. It is a lie.

The same distorted British history claims that Shaka was not an heir from Senzangakhona, Chiefs did not give birth to heir as Chiefs get appointed by Kings. Anyone can be installed as a Chief unlike the King.

During the British conquest, the British established Paramount Chiefs, these Chiefs acted as British administrators and it was also used to undermine African Monarchs and the British will install those Chiefs to undermine African Kings.

In Southern Africa only the Swazi royal monarchy refused the term paramount chief when it was imposed by the British government over the Swazi royal government.

The Swazi objected to the term in 1903, never received any recognition by the Swazi royalty, and was formally changed in 1968 to King.

It is therefore this reason that the Swazi Monarchy remains as the only African absolute monarchy. Therefore it's a myth that King Shaka became the first King of the Zulu nation.
