It's a mountain gorilla BABY BOOM 🦍 in Uganda. Meet the newest member of the Christmas family in the Nkuringo sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. In this photo captured by our field team yesterday (16/05/2022), adult female Kiiza is seen holding her baby so dearly!

With this new birth, the number of mountain gorillas 🦍 in the Christmas family has grown to a total of eight. Kiiza was first spotted by our daily team of trackers with her healthy baby early on Monday morning. Both mother and father are in good health too.

Kiiza is a name given to a child who is born after twins. It is heartwarming to see her bring new life to earth, and is a testimony to the excellent work done by our teams, communities, and partners in conserving these iconic species. We wish them a long and healthy life. 🦍

Travel Tip; According to information on Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)!!

All COVID-19 PCR test certificates for departing passengers MUST indicate TRAVEL as the intended purpose of test.

Effective from the 17th September 2021, all arriving passengers (including children) irrespective of vaccination status or country of origin, are required to arrive with a negative PCR test done 72 hours prior to travel and will be required to undergo mandatory screening and carry out a PCR test at their own cost at all points of entry including Entebbe International Airport.

Currently children of three (3) years and below are exempted from the requirement for a negative PCR test certificate as long as they are accompanied by parents holding a negative COVID -19 PCR test certificate until 16th September 2021.
