Being grateful helps us feel positive emotions, relive happy memories, and improve our overall mental health. Plus, nothing turns around a bummer of a day like focusing on what we do instead of what we don't. Here is your Word to command this Sunday:

VERSE: Mark 1: 12-13: "The Spirit drove Jesus out into the desert, and he remained in the desert for forty days, being tempted by Satan

• Even after baptism we are not free from temptation; we are led into the desert of life.
• If we were not tempted, we would not grow in our faith.
• Tests help us to get to another level of life.
• God allows testing in the lives of those living a life that pleases Him as preparation for great service.
• We have to hold tightly on Jesus.

*PRAYER:* Lord God, Your Son was tested as a foretaste of what we shall experience.

I ask You to stand by me especially when I am tempted to quit.

Send me Your Spirit to guide me, and may He also provide me the armour and protection; in Jesus Christ's Holy name I pray. Amen

A MATTER OF THE HEART I

John 13:22-24
_"The disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom he spoke. One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was reclining at table close to Jesus, so Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus of whom he was speaking."_ [ESV]

The name Judas Iscariot has become so synonymous with betrayal that the one who betrays another is called a Judas. So it is easy for us to think that Judas Iscariot was visibly and evidently a betrayer. That was not the case. In fact, when Jesus announced to the disciples that one of them was to betray Him, they could not tell it was Judas. They just looked at one another.

Beloved, sin is not always manifest to an onlooker. In fact, we all look better in our own eyes than we really are when measured against the high standard of God. So let it be known to you dear beloved that God looks at the heart and not the outside. You may put up appearances of goodness and fool men but God cannot be fooled. Come to Christ and He will change your heart.

*Prayer:*
Glorious Father, I acknowledge that you do not look at the outside but the heart. So I come before you to cleanse my heart and change me. Amen.

THE HEART OF SERVICE
John 13:4-5
_"Jesus rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him."_ [ESV]

Our theme scripture is the continuation of what we read yesterday. Jesus, knowing that He was from God and was going back to God, he girded himself with a towel and begun to wash his disciples feet. He was driven to serve because of the knowledge He had of God. He knew He was from Him and was going back to him and that was motivation enough for him to serve.

Beloved, how much inspiration to serve do you draw from the fact that you belong to God and you are bound to be received into His glorious presence at the end of your lifetime? This ought to be at the very heart of all that you do - knowing that you belong to God. There is no higher calling than to belong to the Father and if you have indeed received the call by believing in Christ, then let it inspire you to extend the same grace to others by ministering the gospel to them.

*Prayer:*
Glorious Father, I am grateful for the opportunity given me in Christ to belong to you. I pray that it may move me to serve and minister the gospel to others. Amen.

_"This ought to be at the very heart of all that you do - knowing that you belong to God."_

Verse: Matthew 11: 28

‘Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.’

- In this verse, the Lord doesn’t give instructions, but He gives an invitation.
- When we come to Him, He lifts our burdens and gives us rest.
- When we try to carry things in our own strength, the load is heavy.
- So let us accept His invitation so that we can experience His rest.

PRAYER: Merciful Lord, today I come to You with all the concerns that I have in my heart. I realise how much I need You in my life and how I cannot carry everything by myself. Here I am Lord, give me Your rest in the name of Jesus. Amen.

NOT TO JUDGE BUT SAVE II

*John 12:48-49*
_"The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment--what to say and what to speak."_ [ESV]

Jesus asserts that He did not come into the world to condemn it but rather that through him it should be saved. Does that mean that the world is off the hook? Does it mean there is no judgement to come? Certainly not. Though Jesus does not judge the world, there is another that does - the Father. He sent His son to preach the gospel for the salvation of men and those who believe not, are already condemned.

Beloved, the gospel is here to save you from the impending judgement. It is not to condemn you but help you escape from the condemnation that is already bound to come upon you. If you do not believe, then you are already condemned. The very message of the gospel will stand witness against you on the last day since it is God's way to salvation that you have rejected.

*Prayer:*
Glorious Father, I receive the gospel and put my trust in Jesus as the only way to escape the judgement that is to come. Amen.

*Meditation Note:*
_"The gospel is to help you escape from the condemnation that is already bound to come."_

Receive it, believe it, say it, see it and live it.

There is a season for every man on earth
Verse: 1 Samuel 16:13

‘As David stood there among his brothers, Samuel took the oil and anointed David. And the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon David from that day on.’

- There came a day in the life of David when the season changed.
- David was just a shepherd boy, but he grew up to be a king over God’s people.
- For each of us there is that day when all things happen in our favour.
- That moment were all your prayers are answered.
- Today, may you experience the presence and the anointing of God on your life.

PRAYER: Merciful Lord, thank You for Your hand upon my life. I pray that from this day on, things will be different. Touch me and change me I pray. May this next season of my life be a defining moment for my future in the name of Jesus. Amen.

I have one question for us to ponder here?

There are several ways to evangelize to win more souls?

WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING EVANGELISM STRATEGIES SHOULD WE INVEST IN MORE TO HELP US WIN MORE SOULS TO GROW THE CHURCH.

Let us ponder on the following:

1) Investing our resources more in holding more local and international evangelistic meetings (crusades).

2) Investing more on building bigger and nicer church buildings where our people should meet.

3) Investing more in empowering the church through charitable activities such as practical discipleship like helping the needy , the poor and unemployed to create for them employment opportunities.

5) Investing more in winning souls by providing community health and educational facilities such as hospitals and schools in our local areas.

6) Investing more in starting several churches under our ministries in our nations and across.

7) Investing more in providing some relief facilities within refugee camps, prisons , hospitals and other disaster affected areas.

8) Investing more in pastors conferences, workshops and seminars to improve on our ministry managerial skills.

9) Investing more in helping pastors to live a pleasant life with their families.

10) Investing more in winning souls by settling up homes for the homeless , elderly, orphans , widows, physically handicapped under our ministries.

11) Investing more in teaching and training ministers to preach the Biblical truth by setting up Bible schools under our ministries.

12. Investing more in empowering and equipping the youth through Bible study sessions , seminars and workshops for gospel outreach activities which includes: Christian MDD, games and sports, races among others.

13) Investing more in pastors’ unity and love for team work and building more of our reputation on Agape Love ❤️ within our localities.

WALKING IN THE LIGHT

*John 12:46*
_"I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness."_ [ESV]

The statement of Jesus in our theme scripture suggests that the world, before He came, was in darkness. That is why he speaks of "remaining in darkness". Now this came as a shock to the Jews of Jesus' time because they prided themselves in walking in the light. It is precisely for that reason that many did not believe in Him for they were assured of their own safety. How wrong they were.

There are a number of people today who are like the Jews, very convinced of their own firm standing in the light yet they are very far from it. If you have not yet believed in Christ for your salvation, then you are surely still in your sin and walking in darkness. Receive Jesus and you will walk in light; you will get to know the extent of your sinfulness and the extent of God's grace given in Christ Jesus to cover the sin.

*Prayer:*
Glorious Father, I acknowledge that without Christ, I am doomed to remain in the dark. I therefore receive Him so that I may walk in the light. Amen.

TODAY'S PRAYER (PSALMS 55) Dear Lord,
I trust in Your divine timing and plan. Even when my path seems winding and unclear, I know You’re steering my life with purpose. As I face detours and delays, let me remember that these are not setbacks but setups for a bigger blessing You have prepared for me. When doors seem closed and I can’t discern Your hand at work, I remain hopeful, knowing You work behind the scenes in ways beyond my comprehension. I embrace where I am because I believe it is where You want me to be. Thank You, Lord, for the set times of favor, healing, and turnaround You have designated for me. I realize that if it hasn’t happened yet, it’s not my time. Help me not to fight but to trust, knowing that my breakthrough is coming right on schedule. God, I rejoice in Your promises and look forward to the day when Your bigger, more rewarding blessings unfold in my life. In Jesus’ Name I pray and believe.
