ABOUT RCHS; Rwenzori climbing and hiking safaris is a community based NGO and company limited by guarantee which is a legal entity, registered to conduct mountaineering hiking safaris on the Rwenzori along the central circuit trail as the sole concessionaires which is the shortest and easier way to the peak (margherita peak 5109 mtrs ASL). The Rwenzori ranges has an area of 996km2 and stretches 100kms long 50km wide and raising up to 5109m ASL Margherita peak rendering it the third highest peak in Africa. The peak is a home of 70 species of mammals,177 species of birds and 78 species of butterflies. It has varying eco-systems ranging from dense tropical and montane rain forest; bamboo forest; the Heather forest; the Alpine zone and the rocky region with snow and permanent glaciers.
