An encounter with the chimps in the forest is quite a thrill...the pant-hoots, screams.. quite hair-raising!

Here our client on chimpanzee tracking in Budongo forest arrived to the hoots and screaming of the chimpanzees in the trees and a curious/daring male on the forest floor probably to be sure no unwanted visitor was invading their territory

About Budongo Forest, famous for huge mahogany trees: https://www.eastafricantrails.com/budongo-forest-reserve/

World Giraffe Day
Today we celebrate the tallest land mammal in the world from Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya which is home to the Masai Giraffes.

: The maasai giraffes in the Mara move while leaving a space of 20 meters between each individual as a way of protection from predators. This gives the giraffes a much wider view of the vast landscape that has lots of predators, and so, for instance if the first individual sees the predator first it alerts the individuals behind in the line. Observe the pictures below

Happy Zebra Day (1st Jan, 2023)
This zebra herd struggles to keep the wall of black and white stripes intact as they quickly stroll through the lion infested Maasai Mara Kenya during the Great Migration.

Did you know??
The stripes on Zebras play a camouflage role by making it difficult for a predator such as a lion from picking out an individual zebra from a herd. If the Zebras keep tightly together, the predator sees one huge moving mass of black and white stripes and is unable to single out one zebra for a chase. Interesting huh?

Murchison Falls is the park’s iconic anchor point given the thunderous Murchison and Uhuru waterfalls cascading over the mighty river Nile – with a host of pretty contented crocodiles at it's base (thanks to the ever present menu of the Nile Perch fish).
