Bitente is the local name for the male hot springs at Semiliki national park, located in Bwamba County, Bundibugyo district. Bitente is said to have been the husband of Nyasimbe [the female hot springs]. Bitente disappeared and emerged as a hot spring and later on, Nyasimbe disappeared and also emerged as a hot spring after years of looking for Bitente in vain.
