Cub in a tree!

One of six cubs in the pride of Kogere and her sister. They live in an area of the park close to the enclave village of Hamukungu, where we regularly monitor for signs of human-lion conflict and where we work closely with the livestock owners.

So far, the cubs are doing well. And were clearly well-fed on this day. They can often be found in the euphorbia trees with their mothers.

When the first Gorilla Doctor began helping mountain gorillas, the species was almost extinct. Today, they're the only population of great apes that's growing

Many of us dream about seeing an elephant on safari, or tracking gorillas in the wild! When done properly your wildlife travels can have a huge benefit on wildlife conservation! But it's important that your wildlife holiday is done properly

Taking a moment on this Endangered Species Day to reflect upon all the threats to our natural world.

While lions, hyenas and leopards are not officially classified as Endangered, their populations are in decline.

We have hope that our work, as well as the work of the many other conservation organisations around the world, will protect remaining wild lands, assist communities in finding ways to co-exist with wildlife, and stop wildlife trafficking before too many more species go extinct. Much gratitude to everyone doing their part in this global effort!

Our friends at the Uganda Carnivore Program recently saw this beauty high up in the trees in the Ishasha Region! Here's what they had to say:

"We don't get down to the Ishasha sector very frequently, but on a recent trip we saw this big male resting comfortably in a fig tree during the heat of the day. He kept a watchful eye on us, but mostly just took a nice cat nap! He likely fed recently, judging from that big stomach! It's always reassuring to see the Ishasha sector doing doing well!"
