One of my most favourite things in the world is to spend time on the still well protected water on the Victoria Nile in Uganda. For being the world's longest river there are remarkably few areas on its entire length as undisturbed and well protected as what we have in Murchison Falls National Park here in Uganda. It is truly a privilege to be able to spend time in these beautiful areas! Come with me, jangu tugende!

Some incredible statistics that illustrate the stewardship of Uganda's remarkable wildlife areas and how far they have come over the last 25 years in terms of rehabilitation and regeneration under the trusty care of the Uganda Wildlife Authority and with the support of all of you that choose to visit the country and invest your savings in the safe and continued survival of these and many other remarkable wild creatures and the beautiful wild places they live in! During the last 25 years, we’ve also registered an increase of wildlife populations for most animal species. Rhinos for instance that had been declared extinct in Uganda as of 1995 were re-introduced and are now thriving. 🎉

It's a mountain gorilla BABY BOOM 🦍 in Uganda. Meet the newest member of the Christmas family in the Nkuringo sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. In this photo captured by our field team yesterday (16/05/2022), adult female Kiiza is seen holding her baby so dearly!

With this new birth, the number of mountain gorillas 🦍 in the Christmas family has grown to a total of eight. Kiiza was first spotted by our daily team of trackers with her healthy baby early on Monday morning. Both mother and father are in good health too.

Kiiza is a name given to a child who is born after twins. It is heartwarming to see her bring new life to earth, and is a testimony to the excellent work done by our teams, communities, and partners in conserving these iconic species. We wish them a long and healthy life. 🦍

Vultures have always been a personal favourite of mine and to see the track that this bird followed is really quite exciting. What an incredible safari he went on, traversing some of the most wild and undisturbed areas on the planet with the best view over teh continent below. Interesting data provided by a remarkable creature! Well done to Uganda Conservation Foundation for their achievements so far and what they continue to achieve in Uganda and our neighbouring countries. Bravo!
