Meet the world’s newest baby mountain gorilla 🦍 born in the Bikingi Mountain Gorilla Family.

We are glad to share with you this first mobile image from our field team in Rushaga - Bwindi Impenetrable NP, Uganda

The baby was born to Adult Female Mucecuru who is a member of the Bikingi gorilla group, famously known for the Gorilla Habituation Experience. The baby was first seen yesterday but is expected to have been born on the night of Friday, 2nd February 2024.

This new birth brings the total number of mountain gorillas in the family to 09 (nine) individuals. We congratulate Silverback Kaharata (the dad) and Mucecuru (the mom) as well as the whole Bikingi family on this great news. We wish the baby a long and happy life.

This fellow collided with the window so badly, and fell down in life threatening state. Realizing that it was still alive, we gave it first aid and support. In less than an hour, it was able to fly off again. Rescue operation successful. Best luck with your flights

Having failed to put off the fire that has been burning for over 50yrs from the "Gate of Hell" - , can't Darvaza Crater be used to instead generate power? UNFCCC, do we how much Methane is oozing from this area. Would closing the gate ensure no leaks from this area? Would closing the crater be safer than the current flaring that helps to turn Methane to Carbon dioxide? Kensington Tours, from the 2013 expedition, are tourists safe visiting this site?
