Hot and dry conditions in Michigan have led to burn bans in several communities. Make sure to consult local authorities regarding restrictions in your area.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for Michigan’s northern lower peninsula today from noon to 9pm. Recent lack of rainfall and extremely dry vegetation across the region will continue favorable wildfire conditions. For more information about burning in your area, visit: www.michigan.gov/dnr.

🔥🔥🔥🔥We are in extreme fire danger..... Please be careful... Not only do these fires put human lives at risk, but they also destroy habitats and animal lives. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

⚠️Here is today's fire danger map. Yes, it is still incredibly dry out there. Fire danger remains extreme throughout most of Michigan, and will stay this way going into the weekend.

Last weekend, Michigan DNR firefighters responded to 44 fires, including the 136-acre Fife Lake Outlet Fire in Wexford County. Our crews fight hard to keep fires small, but they need your help to prevent wildfires from flaring up in the first place.

We know we're sounding like a broken record here, but please do not burn yard debris and if you use a campfire/cooking fire, keep water and a shovel on hand and NEVER leave a fire unattended.

Drench the fire when you're done, stir it, then drench it again. Once it's cool to your hand, you're good to go.

Thought we'd pass on a little reminder from the DNR for those that may be out enjoying the nice weather this weekend..... 🦌🦌🦌🦌
Also, remember to check for ticks. This season is already starting out to be a bad one.

It's fawn season! Have you found any popping up in your area?

Some quick reminders when it comes to fawns:
🟢 Mom will leave them on their own, which is perfectly normal.

🟢 Taking photos from a distance is okay, but don't disturb the little one.

🟢 Only wildlife rehabilitators are permitted to assist wildlife.

🟢 Enjoy the moment and the unique (frankly, weird) locations mom will leave her fawn(s).
