I braved the crazy wind and cold (I came down here to escape winter, but it seems it followed me 🥶) to check out the Festival of the Arts.

As always the food was 🤌🏼, and the interactive art pieces were a ton of fun. Is the Festival of the Arts on your bucket list?

I've been to Disney more times than I can count at this point, but I've only gotten to go with my husband 3 times - our honeymoon at Disney World, a quick Christmas trip to Disneyland, and then the trip we took last month.

Due (mostly) to his being in the Navy and having very limited time off, our first two trips were rushed. We squeezed as much into a few days as we possibly could.

And while they were incredible trips for what they were, that's not how you should be doing Disney. It's much more enjoyable when you can keep things low-key and rest.

Which is why last month's trip with Russell will probably go down in my memories for the greatest Disney trip I'll ever take. I love going alone, but it's even better with my best friend and we FINALLY got to do Disney "right".

We ate a ton of good food, we rested a lot and explored the resort, and frankly, we didn't spend a whole lot of time in the parks! Some of our favorite memories include hopping over to the Grand Floridian and accidentally stumbling upon the Enchanted Rose lounge right at opening, and heading over to the Polynesian where Russell grabbed a beer from Kona to go and we sat on the beach together and just enjoyed the sound of the water and each other's company.

If you want to hear more about our trip, and what I view as the ultimate way to do Disney, head over to the blog to read this week's latest post!

And I'd love to know - what's YOUR favorite way to do Disney?

I'm a Disney Adult, but my husband is not. He could never go to Disney again and be perfectly content. So, we compromised with his five year rule.

He'll come to Disney with me once every five years.

So when 2022 rolled around, it had finally been five years since we did Disneyland together, and I couldn't wait to start planning. I knew I wanted to prioritize what Russell loves most about vacation - eating good food and trying new things.

Which made EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival a no-brainer for this trip. We stayed at the BoardWalk Inn, and the location was perfection. We walked into EPCOT almost every day of our trip to try something new from the booths.

We ended up trying 32 different foods and drinks during our trip, and some we even went back and had twice! If you want to see a full in-depth look at what we tried and how we felt about it - head over to the blog and read the latest blog post!

🚨 The school year feels like it just started, but if you're thinking about a Disney trip for Spring Break 2023, it's time to book NOW. 🚨

Whether that's Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani, or a Disney Cruise, it's time to get to planning.

I know it seems early, but you don't want to wait for a few reasons:

1) March and April are BUSY for Disney, which means hotels fill up fast. If you've got your heart set on a certain location, don't wait, because it might fill up, or you'll be stuck with only higher tier rooms available.

(Last year, I spent over 8 hours on the phone with Disney and had multiple rooms snatched from under my client because the ball didn't start rolling until December! They almost missed out on their dream hotel!)

2) Most people wait until November/December to think about spring break. But do you really want to plan Disney on top of the holiday season/expenses? No. No you do not.

3) The earlier you book, the more time you have to spread out your payments. I can get you booked with just a small deposit, and then you've got time to spread out a payment plan over time.

If you'd like to get started with a quote, tell me which destination you have in mind in the comments, and let's get your Spring Break trip planned!

I snapped this picture as I walked into Disney World for the first time in almost 5 years.

And for the first time as an Annual Passholder.

Now, I’ve always been someone who cries the first time they see the castle, but I had no idea that I was a person who cried at the first park landmark period.

(Did I used to do exactly what I always suggest not to do and go to Magic Kingdom first no matter what? Yes. Yes I did. Don’t be past me.)

But sure enough, I pulled into the parking lot, saw the Golf Ball, and immediately started crying.

Are you a Disney landmark crier? Or am I totally alone in this?

I’ve been lucky enough to work with Jennifer for multiple years now as a content marketing strategist (), so I was absolutely THRILLED to have the chance to help plan her and her family’s magical escape this past April.

When she sent over some pictures from their trip, I was so incredibly happy they finally got their vacation after a few very long years. And other than a few rogue blisters, they were able to enjoy their trip to the fullest!

Every now and then Disney will put out offers and promotions for discounts on packages.

These are always great encouragement to get your package booked, but did you know that you can retroactively add an offer to an already existing package?

That’s right! If your package falls within the requirements for the promotion, the promotion can be added to an existing trip.

^^ Anyone can do it, but this is a great reason to have a travel agent working for you.

Because travel agents are frequently visiting the Disney website, we’re quick to see when new offers drop and can immediately try and apply it to your package.

But if not, if you’re planning on your own, be sure to check back to the Disney website frequently to see if there are any new offers that can be added to your reservation!

I get asked so often what someone can expect as far as price for a Disney trip, and honestly, I hate answering that question because it’s not a simple answer. So, I decided to start a new series where I show off samples packages of what a trip COULD look like and cost.

⭐A 5 Night stay for a family of 4; Walt Disney World
⭐Caribbean Beach Resort
⭐No Tickets
⭐Total: $1,550

Please keep in mind that prices fluctuate often, and these are only SAMPLES to give you an expectation of what to expect. These prices are not guaranteed. Want to see something specific? Throw it in the comments and I’ll add it to my list for another time!

I went back and forth multiple times about whether or not to get tickets to a Mickey’s Not So Scary party, but in the end we decided why not?

If you’ve been around, you’ve probably heard (or seen) me say that Russell has agreed to a Disney trip together no more than once every 5 years, and we’re finally in year 5 again.

And we’re heading back for fall, which feels extra special since we went on our Honeymoon in September as well – only this time we’ll be attending a party, which we haven’t done together!

Have you ever done one of the parties? Is it on your bucket list?

*NOTE: THESE NUMBERS ARE FOR COMPARISON PURPOSES ONLY AND NOT A GUARANTEE OF WHAT YOUR TICKET COST WOULD BE*

Usually if clients are looking to save money on their trip, they’ll buy park tickets for less days, but get the park hopper add on.

In theory, it makes sense, only go to the parks on some days, and try to see multiple parks in one day. Really spend the day getting your money’s worth.

However, you’re much more likely to save money if you skip the park hopper add on and get tickets for more days. More ticketed days also takes the pressure off, because if your group is tired you won’t feel like you have to push through because it’s your only chance in a specific park.

I was a little nervous the first time I ever went to Disneyland, because I was going by myself. I’d done Disney World more times than I could count, but never alone! And Disneyland was an entirely new ball game.

However, I quickly realized that being alone meant I could stand in line to meet as many characters as I wanted … something Russell is not a fan of doing.

I spent a good chunk of that first day walking around, getting pictures with characters, and had a total blast.

Pro Tip: Even if you aren’t staying as a guest at Aulani, you can book a dining reservation and check it out!

We spent our 5th anniversary having dinner and watching fireworks at Aulani and it was more magical than I could have ever expected.

I’m still dreaming of the day we’ll actually be able to stay, but it was so much fun to walk around the resort, enjoy a little Disney magic with these incredible desserts, and – of course – stop by the gift shop!

What’s your preference – eating dinner inside the parks, or at resorts?

I used to think I preferred eating in the parks, but the older I get and the more I go to Disney, the more I enjoy slowing down, getting out of the parks, and eating at the resorts.

It’s fun to see other hotels, and the food is usually better than what you’d find inside the parks! (Except EPCOT. I’ll always prefer EPCOT over a resort).

But you can’t discount eating in the parks either. It maximizes your time in the parks, which hey, you spend a lot of money to get into! AND if you get a late enough reservation, you can experience an empty park for a minute as you make your way out!

What’s your take? Eat in the parks, or at the resorts for dinner?

“Amanda was so easy to work with! She made traveling across the country to go to Disneyland less daunting. Everything was ready for us when we got to the hotel. We couldn’t have asked for a better travel agent to plan our trip with 2 under 2. We will definitely be using her again!”

I know I talk a *lot* about Disney World, but did you know I can help you with any Disney vacation you’re interested in?

I’m able to book Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruises, Adventures by Disney, and Aulani packages!

(I mean, technically I can help with any travel arrangement. I just personally prefer and enjoy Disney most)

Not only can I book them, but I’ve got first-hand experience with Disney World, Disneyland, AND Aulani! This helps tremendously with helping YOU know exactly what to expect!

Our 8th wedding anniversary is coming up, and I thought it’d be fun to share some throwbacks from our Disneymoon.

When my husband and I first started dating, I told him that my dream honeymoon would be going to Disney World.

Russell laughed right in my face and said “if we continue down this path, I guarantee you we will not be going to Disney World for our anniversary.”

9 months later, we were wedding planning and researching honeymoon destinations and he realized that the discounts you can get as an active duty military member were incredible and Disney World it was. (This man loves nothing better than to save money.)

8 years later, and I still haven’t managed to turn him into a full-fledged Disney Adult, but he’s agreed to come with me once every 5 years. I’ll take what I can get.

One of my favorites ways to save a little money, and also stick to a budget? Buying Disney giftcards from Sams Club. (You can also do this at Costco, and Target with a Red card!)

We buy $500 giftcards for around $484, and use those to pay for the hotel, dining, souvenirs, etc. The savings may not be huge, but when you’re paying for the entire trip with them, they do add up!

We were standing there in the dark waiting in line for the park to open, when a cast member came up to us and asked if we’d like to help open the park.

I thought it was a joke

Turns out it wasn’t! We were taken up to the train station to help open the park with the cast members, and then driven in the fire truck up to the castle for a little photoshoot.

The funny thing about big moments like this? I’m always in too much shock to take it all in, and then the memories are fuzzy. Thank goodness for pictures!
