The "To be a kid" event with the GPD was held at derby downs this last Saturday. All the kids did a fantastic job! Including our drivers: Alana Milone, Jonah Wooten, Emily Lee, Roni Caputo, Grace Shoemaker and Lucy Pariso.

Akron Local Banquet Attendees: The venue for the banquet has changed to Guy's Party Center 500 E Waterloo Rd Akron OH 44319. The date and time of the banquet has stayed the same: Friday June 24th, arriving at 6pm with dinner at 6:30 and awards at 7:30. Looking forward to celebrating all the local drivers and families. See you all there!

The Akron Area Derby Board Meeting will be held this Wednesday November 3rd from 7:00-8:30pm. The meeting will be held at the American Legion: 1601 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls. The building is located on the same side of the street as the Sheraton and past the Hibachi. Enter through the back of the building and down the stairs. This is our yearly election meeting, so please consider attending and joining a great group!

Announcement: We are moving our election night Akron Area Soap Box Derby meeting to next month. Meeting will be held Wednesday November 3rd at 7:00pm. Location is TBD and will be updated on our page as soon as it is confirmed. Please consider joining the derby board. Volunteers are needed and much appreciated in order to keep derby running. Whether you have experience or not, or can only give a little time to volunteer or a lot, you are welcome to join! All board members receive 50% off all akron races (including the local)! And you are helping to support a wonderful organization. There are so many kids, as well as families, who benefit from this sport and we would like to continue to see it grow and flourish.
