Yesterday was a slow start, but once the sun went down they started getting active. Landed a nice 57” along with a few other little ones. Beautiful evening on the river as always!

The sturgeon season started with a bang, as our team landed and released eight sturgeon. The early catches were smaller, ranging from 25 to 30 inches. But as the sun began to set, we caught two fish that exceeded 50 inches in length, a great way to start the season.

From now till September 30th I’ll be holding a competition for the longest sturgeon caught on my boat. The winner will receive a custom built rod from .

Meet Dixie, the 4-legged legend behind the name Whistlin Dixie Charters. She’s been fishing by my side for the past 14 years and still going strong!
