Erin Escapes

Erin Escapes I am a full service Travel Agent specializing in Family and Luxury travel. I don't really know how I got here. They also gave me an unsuppressed work ethic.

I think many avenues collided to get me on this path. First was my passion for animals, which evolved into a love of nature, the environment and all things science. I loved the ocean very young...years before I ever even saw it. I was born inquisitive and exploring but my parents developed my desire to experience new things. Travel matters. This world is too big and too amazing to not explore all

you can. My mom is a storyteller. In fact she comes from a long line of storytellers, and I like to think she has passed some of that ability on, but she is by far the best storyteller I know. From as far back as I can remember, she was always teaching us about her childhood, our relatives like the crazy aunt that washed windows naked and how my very proper grandmother as a teenager once took a car for a joy ride without permission (aka stole it), the general happenings of a small town and so on. These memoirs helped shape my life.

It wasn’t until my great aunt Dorothy’s 90th birthday party that this long tradition of storytelling, changed my life. I listened and laughed for hours, while my great aunt recalled her fantastic world travels; visits to friends and family around the globe; and her amazing, profound and hilarious experiences. Listening to her recollections and pondering them since, has made me realize that travel is not an escape from life…it is an integral and important part of life. Regardless of how big or small the adventure, it all matters. In the end, all we have are the collections of people, pictures, memories, and experiences that make up the stories of our life. I am Erin. My wonderful husband, Randy and I have been blessed with 4 children, 2 cats and a mortgage. Our story includes endless hours at the ice rinks, the swimming pools and the golf courses. Sprinkle in some church, some Scouts (Girl, Cub and Boy ‘Scouts’), some friends and a lot of family, and a story is written. I have a love for animals and a passion for travel. As a kid I didn’t get to travel much; but I loved going to the lake, camping, exploring the woods nearby, collecting rocks and shells, and trying new foods and new experiences every chance I got. As an adult I still love to explore and experience anything and everything but now, on a global scale. It is exciting to talk about or even just read about travel, but the privilege of arranging travel as a profession is an incredible blessing. Let me help you arrange the next great story of your life.

The story is long and the tellin’ is slow

But that’s the point, isn’t it? To collect stories and memories and wonderful things that help you connect with people and places and bring you joy or inspiration or whatever? I believe that travel has the power to do all those things, and more. Travel should be meaningful.

I started life as an extreme animal lover. Add to that an affinity for math and a total fascination with nature and a science geek is born.

As a kid, I didn’t get to travel much. I had a fairly humble upbringing. But what little we did do, was impactful. My parents always gave us a nice mix of education, like museums and historical sites; fun, like beaches and amusement parks; and local culture, like the food, art and sports. At some point, I realized my love of science was accentuated by travel. Walking an ancient ruin, visiting a world-class museum, sitting on a mountain top as clouds pass around you, swimming under a waterfall, hiking a forest where no one has ever been, trying new foods, snorkeling with manta rays, exploring a centuries old church, watching the sunrise over a crater, encountering a new (to you) culture, shopping a market, kayaking a river, staring up at a star-filled sky, admiring priceless works of art, and the list goes on.

Pause there for a minute.
