In this case, it's salt! Bolivia has the coolest salt flats that I've seen, but the salt flats (and former salt mine shown) in Chile were cool in their own way and definitely worth a visit.

On my last trip to Africa I did something I hadn't done before...took a hot air balloon ride to see all of the animals from up above.

We were there during the great migration so we saw millions of animals moving together and were able to take in the vastness of the land. I'd highly recommend a hot air balloon ride during your next safari trip!

During one of our game drives a few years ago in South Africa, our guide told us to get out of the vehicle so we could go take a look at something. I never would have guessed he was going to have us get out and walk near a bunch of cheetahs!

Just like a house cat, they were soaking up the sun and lazily laying around. We even caught one mid-yawn.

Most people think of animals like lions and elephants when they think of Africa, but did you know that you can see these giant tortoises too? They are located in Zanzibar, an island off of Tanzania where you'll also find beautiful beaches.

Zanzibar is a perfect addition to a safari trip in Tanzania. It creates the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation!

You can't tell me this doesn't look like a place where fairies and leprechauns hang out.

One of the many reasons I love hiking while traveling is the scenery you wouldn't otherwise see. A few years ago my Mom, sister, and I went on a week long hiking trip in Ireland and it was one of the best trips I've ever taken. First of all, I got to spend quality time with my Mom and sister which is awesome, second we saw beauty we never would have seen had we not hiked. What's really amazing is that we spent the whole week in one part of the country and every day still looked different. If you're into the outdoors, an active vacation is calling your name.

My sister and I are taking our first sister trip in almost 10 years soon! Our first was to Germany where we drove throughout the country for 2 weeks soaking up the scenery, culture, and a *few* beers.

This time we're off to Copenhagen and Stockholm which I'm so excited about both because I've never been to either city (or country for that matter) and because I get quality 1:1 time with my sister.

Admittedly, I have a lot of favorites when it comes to types of trips to plan, but one of them is definitely family trips. I always loved (and still love) trips with any member or members of my family where we create new memories together and enjoy new experiences. It's amazing the new stories you'll hear about people you've known your whole life, or how a really unique shared experience is something that you talk about for years to come. It's just really special and I'm excited to have some of those moments during our upcoming sister trip!

The quote requests have been rolling in lately and interest in travel to Africa has been surging - something that makes this girl really happy since it's such a special place!

One itinerary I've been working on is for a couple getting married next year and traveling to South Africa for their honeymoon. It got me thinking about my last trip to South Africa and the anticipation and excitement of every game drive. On one of my game drives, we could hear elephants near us for a good 10+ minutes before they finally came into view. What a highlight, waiting for such an enormous creature that you somehow couldn't see and then witnessing a herd of elephants pass through. I can't wait to hear all about their animal encounters in a few months!

Recently, I've had fun helping numerous adventurers plan their delicious trips through Italy. Who wouldn’t be excited about a gastronomic tour through one of the best food destinations? I worked closely with this particular client to craft an itinerary that included tastings of the creamiest mozzarellas, insightful food tours, while ensuring the iconic landmarks like Rome's Colosseum and the Amalfi Coast were not missed. The post-trip recount of their culinary experiences was the icing on the cake!

Eat ugali or matoke. Ugali is a staple in many homes and typically consists of maize meal and water. Matoke is another staple made from green bananas. Both can be serviced with things like beans or stews.

See Zanzibar. The island is a nice place to relax after trekking Kilimanjaro or enjoying game drives.

Do go on game drives. There's nothing like the wind in your hair as you venture out to explore the vast home of many different species of wildlife.

What to drink, see, and do in New Zealand.

Drink Sauvignon Blanc. Many wineries make the white wine in New Zealand and there aren't many experiences better than drinking a good wine at a beautiful vineyard.

See the South Island loop. There's an easy driving loop throughout the South Island of New Zealand that takes you from one scenic town to another. You'll want to plan on at least a week to do the loop and stay in different spots along the way.

Do spend all your time outside. New Zealand is known for it's beauty and outdoor activities. Plan to spend time outside rain or shine!

Do explore the smaller towns as well. Spain has some amazing cities, but it also has really beautiful sea-side and mountainous towns.
