The weeks right before memorial day, when we get weather like this, is almost better than prime time at the lake. The boys and I enjoyed a fun day at the lake, park hopping and a lakeside dinner.

Are you the type to unload your entire suitcase into drawers while on vacation, or live out of your suitcase? Or does it depend on length of stay?

My husband is our "unpacker" and even for short stays will always unload our suitcases into drawers. Which is why we knew we wanted to have this available for our renters!

Ever want a vacation where you can just rest?

Where you get away, but aren't too far away. Where you don't have to plan much, you can have slow mornings and not rush out the door. You actually feel recharged afterward and not more exhausted.

I love weekends away like that. Out of our norm, but keeping it simple. And my favorite parts of those weekends are the quiet mornings.

The kitchen table is where memories are made. One thing I always look for when I'm renting a place is how much kitchen seating there is for our group. Not only for comfortable meals together, but also for those game nights or late night cocktails.

At Rest Ashore we have an extendable dining table with 8 seats, plus a few extra chairs in the master closet. We also have 4 additional seats at the island.

BONUS: There's also a table and 4 seats in the basement. Great for kids activities or to set up a puzzle!

Hosting is my jam.

When I was younger my parents always traveled to and stayed in Bed and Breakfasts lodging. I would love hearing about their stay and seeing pictures of the gorgeous places. I always thought they would own one some day. Now, as an and host myself, I sort of feel like I get to play that role!
