Ready to “be bold, get cold”? The annual Polar Bear Plunge is a celebration of fitness, nature, camaraderie and a New Year! Leave your wet suit at home and come with friends and family to the Avila Beach Pier. Bring costumes, floaties, etc, but no dogs, please.

Meet on the East side of the Avila Beach pier at 11:30 AM for pictures and encouragement from fellow plungers. Participation is free and neither tickets nor reservations are required.

Spectators and photographers can gather on the pier for the best vantage point of the plungers.

Commemorative shirts are available for purchase, and proceeds benefit the 40 Prado homeless shelter and Friends of Avila Pier.

Please save the date and join us on the Avila Beach promenade for Cupid Paws Doggie Parade hosted by the Avila Beach Civic Association on Friday Febuary 1.

Participants must register and be checked-in between 10:00-10:45 am to receive a contest identification number. The costume contest will include the following categories: best dog costume, best dog/owner look alike, best holiday look, funniest costume, and best in show.

Please check in at the registration table on the Avila Promenade at the base of the pier.

Parade participants will receive goodie bags donated by Petco Arroyo Grande.
