NOVEL MOTION PICTURES is the creative effort of Writer/Director, Ben Sullivan and includes a broad network of partners, and collaborators. In NOVEL MOTION PICTURES, the experience gained through the variety of past projects is leveraged to tell stories. We believe that stories have a profound effect on how perceive our reality and how we make sense of the world around us. We believe we humans cra
ve story not to forget our own, but to help us find meaning in an otherwise meaningless existence. So will we seek to tell stories of characters who may be in conflict with society or those around them, but most of all they are in conflict with themselves–with their inner demons, their past, their fears, their flaws, their wounds, and their shame. They have the guts to dive in to the depths of their souls and the courage to engage what they find there. As the characters in the stories engage those dark places within themselves and the places of wounding, we are coaxed to those places within our own hearts. While this experience is highly personal and unique to every one of us, we connect most with each other at the point of our wounds; so at the same time, it’s strangely unifying. We find we’re not alone in the mess of humanity. And so the combination of compelling stories with cinematic beauty provides a powerful experience that rises above mere entertainment and begins to provide an expression of the shared experience of the human condition. It is our sincere desire that this expression will ultimately help us live better lives full of hope and in meaningful community with those around us.
