Sometimes, despite our advice in our check-in email, we don’t grab groceries before heading to the cabin. That’s why everything needed for breakfast is provided for at the cabin. Syrup is also included!

Thank you to our guests’ feedback! We will start including coffee beans and a manual coffee burr grinder to go along with our french press for your stays.

The current selection is Mt. Comfort’s Organic single-origin Peru blend. We love this smooth, warm, almost chocolate-ly and nutty taste.

Camp Alder sits in the shadow of one of North America’s most legendary mountaineering challenges. With over 60 named routes, Mt. Rainier has been climbed from nearly every approach, but never without struggle and never without a few lessons learned.

Every year, groups of hardened and trained athletes from all over the world make the journey to the base of Rainier, stare up at its crumbling rock features and cascading ice falls, and ask themselves - How in the world are we gonna get up this thing?

Only 44% of independent climbing parties make it to the summit, according to the park’s statistics.

Your odds get better if you climb with one of Mt. Rainier National Park’s sanctioned guiding companies - and - all three made up of some of the most experienced and generally-fun-to-be-around climbing guides in the world. Check their calendars for availability, and prepare for an adventure. You won’t regret it.

After an extended stay in the woods, there are always two things I crave without fail: my next hot meal and this bed.

It’s the only king bed I’ve ever slept on, so maybe they’re all this wonderful and I’ve just been missing out? But I felt validated when we had a guest ask for the brand/model after a week’s stay at the cabin. It’s so good!

Weekends are booking up fast. We’re all full for April weekends, but why not book the weekdays and work from the cabin? We’ve got internet strong enough for zoom video calls (our wifi averages at 40 mbps), a nice 34-inch curved monitor and we provide a bluetooth keyboard.

We’re breaking the rules when it comes to filling out our space. We furnished it full of things we love and enjoy, like our favorite books, furniture brands, records and appliances, all the things you probably don’t want to share with strangers but this place is firstly our home, and we want it to feel like that for you too.

We’re getting so close to getting it all set up for you all to visit! I’m so excited! We still haven’t gotten a chance to repaint the bathroom or install a new door that would let in more light yet.

This cabin has been a dream of ours for almost a decade. We were flexible in our criteria, but kept looking for a quiet and forested home near mountains. We feel we really lucked out with this property located on two lots and just five miles from Mt. Rainier National Park Nisqually entrance.

Camp Alder is just 5 miles away from Mt. Rainier Nisqually entrance. It's close enough to beat the crowds early in the morning but not close enough to be blocked by the queue into the park on busier days—an ideal location to get the most out of your day in the park.

This open space cabin is great for solo adventurers, couples or friends who are looking for a private space with thoughtful designs.
