Astoria Trolley "Old 300"

Hi everyone! We wanted to bring you up to date on Old 300’s schedule. As of today (6/17/24) the official demolition of Buoy Beer on the trolley line has begun. Heavy equipment has been brought in to dismantle the property which began to fall into the river two years ago. Because of this, Old 300 is back to running from Basin Street to 6th Street only (1-4 pm) til further notice. We will not travel through downtown to 39th TFN. We are hopeful this demolition is a rapid process but it is beyond our control. We will keep you posted on this platform and hopefully on local media when things change and the tracks are open again to 39th. Thank you for your patience! 🚎

“I thought the trolley doesn’t run in winter. I saw it on the track today”!

We’re getting that a lot lately and some folks are calling the Chamber of Commerce with the same question. Here’s the deal: We do maintenance and repair on the trolley during the winter months. 99% of that work takes place in the trolley barn but occasionally we need to take it out for a short time to make sure the repair works. A “test drive” if you will. So, yes you may see the trolley on the rails a time or two but we’re not taking on any passengers.

Second question we’re getting these days is how is the further collapse of Buoy Beer which is right on the trolley line going to affect the trolley? Simple answer is….we don’t know. Our target 2024 start up is spring break and that hasn’t changed where we’re concerned. We’re hopeful the parties involved have done whatever needs to be done in that area by then. 🚃

Friendly reminder: Old 300 has come to the end of our 2023 season. Our last run was October 31 and we’ve put the old girl in the barn for winter and much needed maintenance. Thank you all for a great trolley season! We made many new friends and it was great seeing old friends again. We should be back on the rails for spring break and in 2024 you might just see a surprise or two! Ding ding! 🚃
