Kenya Casey Designs was founded in 1998 by Kenya “Afam” Casey. Influenced and inspired by her travels, Kenya uses a variety of fabrics, vibrant colors, and rich textures to create her eclectic brand of products that are stylish, elegant, and unique. She aspires to distinctly combine her love for vintage styles, African culture, and urban flavor into inspirational and functional pieces that enhance

daily life. She states, “My hope is that by combining styles and cultures, my collections may contribute in some way to the harmonious union of the global community.” Kenya is definitely a global citizen. She has lived abroad and spent significant amounts of time in Africa, Europe, Asia and Jamaica. Kenya received her first sewing machine, as a gift from her mother and mentor, at the tender age of nine-years old. That same machine rests in her workroom today! She also possesses a keen photographic eye, which produces vivid images that are captivating in their beauty and simplicity, with subjects that often bring attention to the unnoticed and under-appreciated. Kenya is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University and Howard University. Her designs include receiving blankets, unique handbags, home textiles, photography, and greeting cards.

Music Therapy & Intentionality

The rules, I follow; but on my terms. Self-isolation and social-distancing for me requires some intentionality. Intentionality being my 2020 theme, if you haven't already figured that out. Knowing that loneliness at times is my closest acquaintance required some intentional moves on my part. Spring Equinox – Birthday Detox 2020

Spring and the spring equinox jumpstart my favorite time of year, not just because it is the launch of a month long birthday celebration, but because it is my reset season. For the past 3-4 years I have had to manage a two week conference during my birthday/ spring equinox, which pushed my reset to the the summer solstice. Mindfulness and My Green Babies

I grew up in a house full of plants, we lived in what felt like a jungle; my mom loved plants! It’s amazing how with each year and each breath I am going back to my roots. Intentional Love & Loneliness

Talking about loneliness is just as taboo as talking about s*x; especially on Valentines Day. To destigmatize loneliness, I will share my intimate dance with this feeling. After decluttering my home I took a magnifying glass to other areas of my life that needed decluttering (people, work, time and mental and physical health) . Post Decluttering Blessings

Blog Post: My New Home Foot to the peddle and an unquenched desire for substantive change, my 2018 post-Thanksgiving drive back to Atlanta was far from boring. Ears glued to my JB wireless speaker (car too old for Bluetooth capability), I had story time with Marie Kondo's audiobook The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up.
