🌀 HURRICANE MILTON IMPACTS ON THE FLORIDA THEME PARKS🌀

WALT DISNEY WORLD
- On Oct. 9, theme parks and Disney Springs will be closed in phases beginning at 1 p.m.
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will close at 1 p.m.
- Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Disney Springs will close at 2 p.m.
- It is likely the theme parks will remain closed on Thursday, Oct. 10.
- Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom is cancelled on Oct. 10. Event tickets will be refunded.
- Walt Disney World Transportation will stop operating Wednesday, Oct. 9 after Disney Springs and the Walt Disney World theme parks close.

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT
- On Wednesday, Oct. 9, Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure & Universal CityWalk will be open until 2 p.m. and will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 10. *Note: Hours of operation are subject to change based on forecast alterations and some attraction and experience availability may be limited on Wednesday as we prepare for an early closure.
- Universal Volcano Bay will be closed Wednesday, Oct. 9 and Thursday, Oct. 10.
- Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida is canceled for Wednesday, Oct. 9 and Thursday, Oct. 10.
- Resort hotels remain operational as they focus on taking care of our guests.
- Full reopening of this destination is expected, including Halloween Horror Nights, on Friday, Oct. 11 at normal operating hours pending the outcome of storm impacts.

AIRPORTS
- Orlando International Airport (MCO) will cease passenger operations on Wednesday, October 9th at 8am.
- Tampa International Airport (TPA) closed today, October 8th at 9am
- Normal operations are expected to resume once authorities deem it safe.

5 Top Tips to maximize your firework viewing experience at Magic Kingdom! 🎆

1️⃣ Get there early! Get there 45-60 min beforehand to find your coveted spot. Then you can switch in and out with your party to grab snacks or use the bathroom.

2️⃣ Find an unobstructed view. Avoid being behind a light pole or a tree so that you have a direct view of the castle.

3️⃣ Stand against the rail. There are multiple railings around the front of the castle blocking off statues or garden areas. If you stand against the rail, you guarantee that you won’t have a person directly in front of you so you won’t have a head, child, or a cell phone in your face.

4️⃣ Book a dessert party! This is my personal favorite option! Not only do you get delicious sweets and beverages, you have your own designated viewing area with WAY less people around you.

5️⃣ Watch from behind the castle! While you can’t see the castle projections, you have a great view of the fireworks with way less people. And you watch from the back left, you can still see Tink fly!

Why me as your travel planner?

Hello! I am Amy, a lover of all things Disney. My love for Disney started watching movies as a young girl, but grew exponentially in 1990 when I took my first trip with my family as a young girl. My excitement began when my Dad handed each one of us a Mickey Dollar at Christmastime. He said, this is a little glimpse of what is to come when school gets out in June. We each taped our dollar to a mason jar and saved our pennies for the next 6 months. It was magical…everything from seeing Cinderella’s Castle for the first time, meeting Mickey Mouse, going on stage as Ginger from Gilligan’s Island in Hollywood Studios, etc. I have been countless times since then and every time, I find a new piece of magic.

I knew I had met my soul mate when I discovered that my now husband had been more times than me! Together, we have made so many new memories as we have traveled as adults only, with our little family, with our big family, with friends. We have enjoyed the classics such as Space Mountain, Carousel of Progress, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean and shared our memories from when we were younger. We have also loved the new adventures together including all of Animal Kingdom, Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride, Soarin’…the list goes on and on. Not only do we love all of the attractions that Disney has to offer, but as foodies, we LOVE all of the food that you can experience in Disney.
