Happy Black History Month! Today is the 7th day and I am celebrating Freedom with this Harriet Tubman quilt, simply called "Harriet". After escaping slavery she made 13 or more rescue missions to free many enslaved people. I have had the pleasure and honor to create three Harriet quilts.

Happy Black History Month! Day 6. This quilt features President Barack Obama and Mrs. Michelle Obama. They are a power couple and we are so proud of them. President Obama was the 44th President of America and the first African American President. The name of the quilt is "Just Between Us".

Happy Black History Month! This quilt is called My Reflection. It is a tribute with the larger face "Ray Charles" and the reflection in the glasses is Jamie Foxx from the movie Ray. Ray Charles was an iconic singer, songwriter, and pianist born in Albany, Georgia.

At the Sankofa Exhibition highlighting the adinkra symbol for Sankofa which loosely translates to " Return". The first one is the "Only God" symbol over the fireplace and I chose the fresh foods at the market place to highlight both Sankofa symbols. It is called "Return To Fresh Foods"

This quilt is a square in a square. I think I'll make a few of these in different colors. It is such a clean uniform pattern. I made it some years ago and it is holding up very well.
