Abiri Tours

Abiri Tours Abiri Tours is a Black owned travel company dedicated to making international travel more affordable to people of color and working class families.

Aimed at making international travel both affordable and accessible, Abiri Tours was founded by veteran educator Ashley Scott. After nearly a decade of experience traveling with students and parents, as well as successfully leading more than fifteen international tours, it became clear to Ashley that many of the people who would benefit the most from international travel were simply beyond his rea

ch. Two realizations were key in Ashley’s development of Abiri Tours. First, that most other tour companies offered tours at costs far higher than many of his potential clients could afford. And second, that during many of his travels, his groups were often the only people of color visiting any particular destination. With these realizations in mind, Abiri Tours was born in order to provide transformative travel experiences – at affordable rates – to a greater number of working-class families and people of color. Just like past experiences, Abiri Tours wants you to....Be there....

Our last day was truly one for the books! San Pedro, Guatemala has poured so much into those who have traveled with the Abiri Travel Group for many many years weve gotten to experience the sheer love and pureness of this city and the beautiful souls within it. Unfortunately, many of them have a very hard time obtaining necessities such as eye exams which cost about $15 USD but the biggest expense comes from a pair of glasses which starts around $150 USD in San Pedro. This can be very challenging when many of our friends in San Pedro have an average salary of about 2k.

Thank you to for donating about 30k worth of glasses making this the 3rd time they’ve helped the people of San Pedro. Some of the frames many people in San Pedro are wearing are simply frames donated by others that are the closest to what they believe they need, but this time we were able to use their personal prescriptions and each person was able to choose their own frames! Between our team in San Pedro and our team in the United States we committed about 800 hours to help the people of Lake Atitlan and we are so grateful to have had this opportunity to touch the lives of these beautiful people! 🤓❤️

Whenever we encounter young people on our trips, we always ask to take their pictures. We then print (HP Sprocket) it out for them immediately so that they also have a memory of their interactions with us. We don't just want to take when we travel, we also want to give. We want them to remember us, because we're coming back again! @ Pramkese, Western, Ghana
