Meet Hercules! Our team at Carey Atlanta proudly supports the Atlanta Police Department’s Mounted Horse Patrol and has served as a sponsor since the Patrol first began. The first horse sponsored by our team, Carey, recently retired, so we were excited for the opportunity to meet our new horse. We quickly won Hercules and his friends over with a box of apples!

The Mounted Patrol is used for the purpose of providing a highly visible police presence and managing and dispersing crowds in the City of Atlanta in accordance with state and federal laws. Tonight is the night - Mike Dangerfield, owner of Carey Limousine Atlanta is sleeping outside. Freezing temperatures are expected tonight. It's going to be cold outside — with a low of 23 degrees. Tonight, I’ll have some protection from the cold — a sleeping bag, a hat, and layers of clothing. Young people facing homelessness are not as lucky. They’re often on the street, alone, with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Covenant House Georgia's doors are open 24/7, 365 days a year, to offer them safety and sanctuary from the cold. 50% of the teenagers who age out of the foster care and juvenile justice systems will be homeless within six months, with limited education and no social support. Covenant House Georgia will be there, providing the shelter and support they need. "Sleep Out America" will support Covenant House International's life-saving programs that help homeless youth. Today, Carey Atlanta owner Mike Dangerfield toured Emory University's Ebola Isolation Unit. It is one of four in the U.S.

In early July, the Carey team noticed poor conditions of the University Avenue’s exit and entry ramps on I75 /I85. Over the years, we have always assisted with cutting the grass, cleaning up debris and removing trash in the neighborhood of Carey Atlanta Headquarters. However, there was only so much we could do and the landscape went beyond our control. We contacted the Georgia Department of Transportation and we were persistent with our requests to perform maintenance.

Over the past two weeks, GDOT has made the University Avenue's exit a priority. We would like to personally thank GDOT for their response and are excited to see the exit ramps cleaned and cleared!
