Be still and listen..
or in my case, be still and look and listen. Use your eyes and pay attention. You can capture the most delicate parts of nature. The juxtaposition of this tiny life tip-toeing around the sand and the roaring surf coming in just feet away. It’s amazing! The color palette just takes my breath away. It is all just so beautiful to me. I never just see a bird or the beach or the ocean. I see how they are all relevant and dependent on each other. How God made each for the other and painted it all so beautifully. 🎨 🐦 🌊

Y’all won’t believe what Sully and I saw walking Eliza!?!? I had just come in from getting some beautiful spring shots of Wisteria and just put my camera down. This beauty was right outside our door. So majestic. He/she just stared at us. I can’t wait to edit a few and take a closer look! Just stunning! 🦉 .

I have been so lax with my IG page. I don’t know why. Life gets in the way I guess. But I love my photos. They make me happy and I want/hope that they make others smile too. I’m late to the party. The Party. I will try my best to keep up from here. There are so many other thousands of creatives out there painting etc. I am a creative in other ways but photography has always been a first love for me. So here we go! You guys have a great Wednesday!! 🌱

I think I’ll post some of my favorite captures of 2023 the rest of the month. This first little trio is of a little friend that lived under the deck of a precious family I dog sit for. The owner told me she would be out and protective when I was out with the dogs and to be aware. She was beautiful and very vocal most times we were out. But sat perfectly while I got some shots in.

I realize photography can be a lot like music, poetry and painting. The mood of it changes as the artist changes through life experiences.

Life is beautiful. It is full of details and of stories. Life is a one and done kind of deal. It doesn't let you re-do it over and over again until you think you get it 'right'. You just have to live and experience the good and the bad and learn from both.

I recently spoke about how surface based photography has always been the mainstream for many consumers of photography. They don't desire anything more than a pretty photograph and I feel this has a lot to do with their perceived idea of what a photographer does from a consumer's perspective; when photography is so much more!

I can recall starting out as a young photographer.. I too, was more focused on the superficial side of photography (aka surface based photographer) until I dug deeper with my craft. I feel that all photographers, in a way, start out as a surface based photographer until they grow and understand the power photography actually has and this can only happen through life experiences and the countless hours spent in photography. It is nothing that can be rushed and there are no short cuts to it. Only time and life experiences are what shape a photographer.. and the more experiences an artist has, the more the artist grows.

Photography is much more complex and deep than many people give it credit for.
