It Takes a Village

Woodstock Community Village is designed to bring our neighbors together in a fun and healthy way. We have secured rights to purchase premium land in walking distance to Downtown along I-575 and Town Lake Blvd. We have removed all residential units from our design plan and increased our Grand Lawn size to almost double the size of the Stone Mountain lawn. Our Preliminary Master Site Plan was reviewed by the City Manager and Director of Community Development. We will post the Final Plan after the feedback is received and applied. It Takes a Village

We have been working with the city and the community to provide a health, wellness and recreational mixed-use venue to serve our neighbors. Our goal is simply to connect people with one another in a safe, sustainable, healthy environment that best represents Woodstock. We have received numerous emails and calls from volunteers who want to help and support us. We created an Ambassador program on our website at www.woodstockcv.com and will be hosting a meeting next Thursday for this group. Thank you all for the sharing and support to create a high-quality community environment, “It truly takes a Village”.

November 2017 Update

Thanks to all of the Ambassadors for your time Thursday, it was great to have everyone together. Our next meeting for this group will be announced soon.
Our next steps for WCV are:

1 File Land disturbance permit in December
2 Finalize Masterplan in December (we are now over 20% larger)
3 Install on site Temporary office and Showroom as soon as possible

The traffic study and parking plans will be outlined in the permits and we will also post. We appreciate the support and feedback as we prepare to install Woodstock Community Village
We will create a Spring and Summer outdoor experience and then we will transition into Fall and Winter Wonderland. We are carefully designing our Ice Skating Rink in the section of the lagoon that will be outlined for our children’s swim area. We are also utilizing community fire pit placements for year-round outdoor enjoyment.

WCV Update

We are humbled by the outpouring of support for Woodstock Community Village. We have decided to enlarge the site based on your feedback. Our new site plan will be posted and presented upon completion. We are full steam ahead with permits leading to construction. We will host two very important upcoming meetings prior to land clearance.

1- Ambassadors meeting for everyone that wants to be involved within the next two weeks (information will be posted) Send us an email if you are interested
2- Public meeting within 30 days presented by all of our business’s and partners

With the additional property, we are adding the following offerings to our plans:
A Larger Lagoon and beach area
B Beer garden and swim up bar
C Pump Track to go with the Velodrome
D Larger walking and bike trails
E Ponds, Gardens and Greenspace
F Additional Parking

1- Carousel relocated to playground area and insert Free Flite Bikes Showroom on the corner acre.
2- Extend the beach area 360 degrees around the Lagoon
3- Relocate the ampitheater lawn closer towards the front
4- Include condominiums above the retail/restaurant area
5- Keep the roads along the perimeter towards parking maximizing pedestrian use and safety

Designers Sketch

As we go from schematic draft- to our designers sketch- to our final engineered site plan we wanted to keep all of our supporters updated. The ability to include the community throughout the process remains our goal. Due to various usage issues we will only develop the south side of Hwy 92. Our plans are attached.

Meeting last Thursday

We want to thank everyone for coming out last Thursday to discuss Woodstock Community Village. There were great questions raised, fantastic interaction and a very strong showing of support.
We are in the process of creating a monthly newsletter to communicate to everyone important information on a consistent basis. Our first copy will be this July as we outline the project layout and timing, the individual operating partners, LEED certification update and community involvement. We are officially hosting a contest for the newsletter.

Our Ambassador meeting had to change due to space availability from June 8th to June 7th at the same time and same location. It is in Building A at First Baptist of Woodstock off of Neese Rd at 7-8:30pm. We look forward to sharing our information with the public at our town hall meeting June 15th. June 15th Public meeting

Our public meeting will be on Thursday June 15th at the First Baptist Church of Woodstock from 7 - 8:30pm. Our team of designers, engineers, operators and partners will present each area in detail along with their construction timelines.

June 7th Ambassador’s meeting

Our meeting for all of our volunteers who have signed up for our Ambassador’s Club will be at the First Baptist Church of Woodstock at 7 - 8:30pm Wednesday June 7th. We will email each volunteer directly. The information is on our website.

Two Weeks to order Personalized Bricks

Our vendor “That’s My Brick” confirmed that they will have any new orders in the next 2 weeks engraved and delivered for our June 15th meeting. The Founders Club members receive a two year all inclusive free membership, $25 Village Bucks and other perks with their personalized brick donation. The order process is on the front page of our website at www.woodstockcv.com.

Community Spirit

We are preparing to present our detailed land use plan for Woodstock Community Village. We are a health, wellness and recreation venue like no other. By partnering with local providers, we are able to offer our community world class amenities at the very best value proposition. Please “like us” and share us with your friends on Facebook and our website at www.woodstockcv.com. We will be holding our public Town Hall meeting in June at the First Baptist Church in Woodstock. Date and time will be announced. The contract for the remaining 7 acre tract across the street has now been executed for a total of 25 acres, which is 20% larger than Centennial Park. We are in negotiations to add another 5 acres as well. The first order of personalized bricks that were donated by our local Founders Club will be shipped in time for our June meeting. Thank you all for the support and belief that a high quality park is beneficial for our community.

Throughout the years of studying, designing and planning we knew that serving our community with an outdoor health, wellness and recreational venue was a solution to some of our local issues. It is easy to identify problems, but the answer is to focus our energy on the solutions. Unless you build a place to work through our everyday problems, it is all just talk. CNN news just did a report this past weekend saying:

What can we do for our community?

The world is a fast moving place and lives just pass by. Our children grow up so fast and our parents enter senior services. Everyone on our team, including our supporters and followers are involved in our project because we all believe that a neighborhood park is a wonderful concept to bring people together in a fun, healthy way. Together we will show what a good group of civic minded people can do for our community.

Top Things we are working:

1- Arranging a large meeting place for our June meeting. (Info will be posted by the end of April)
2- Laying out the amenities according to our topography to complete our Master Plan.
3- Finalizing hospitality contracts to announce restaurant and retail partners.
4- We finalized our logging agreement and now working on the clear, grub and grade contract.
5- Meeting with all the schools and senior living facilities to arrange various programs to work together.
6- Arranging an Ambassador meeting for all of you who have signed up.

Thank you all for sharing our news with your friends. We really appreciate it. The Ambassador Program

Our venue is set to Grand Open in a little more than 1 year on June 21st, 2018, the first day of summer. Our construction schedule will be posted within 30 days. At the center of the mantra of Woodstock Community Village is the Ambassador Program. This group of dedicated, local individuals have all come together to bring their support to serve our community. Because of your time and energy in supporting our venue you will all receive an assortment of lifetime benefits of carte blanche including free admission, food, beverage discounts and private parking.

The Ambassadors will assist in the installation labor and be involved with the area of their choice. We have 21 participants currently who have been with us and our plan is to have 100 on the team. We will have an Ambassador Meeting after Spring Break and will provide the date, time, location and directions. Warm Welcome

Founders Club Members

We are very excited to announce the Founders Club which is now open. The first 2000 supporters of Woodstock Community Village Brick Campaign will be placed at the front entrance. The members will receive a 2 Year All Access membership, $25 Village Bucks as well as Fast Pass entrance and reserved parking. We always knew that certain neighbors would understand and support the paradigm shift in parks that we are set to install and operate. We have replicated an assortment of the most successful health, wellness and recreational activities from other venues from around the globe. Our local community will soon have an outdoor venue which is 20% larger than Centennial Park with an exciting combination of amenities and activities.

Thank you all so much for the encouragement to install Woodstock Community Village to serve our local residents. We have reviewed multiple location options and have finalized our decision. We will enhance the gateway along Highway 92 about 1 mile from Downtown. We have executed our contract for the 18 acre tract as the 7 acre tract is also being finalized. The attached schematic outlines the location and layout. Our design and engineer team will complete the Master Plan and post. We have met with all of the local officials who have reacted positively towards our plans. We will now focus all of our energies towards our design and construction process. Today’s Village feature- Security

We have spent an enormous amount of time and energy working with the best resources in our community, including our police chief and private security specialists. We want all woman, parents and children to know that they are safe when they go out to exercise or simply play. Our security check entrance keeps out all weapons supporting our safe zone environment. Our entire venue including private parking lots will be monitored by high quality cameras and patrolled by security professionals. Knowing we are safe allows us to enjoy our recreational time off from the daily grind.

In the last few years, three of the last few remaining, non flood plain sites have been designed for development. In East Cobb, the Isaakson Senior Living team is currently fighting in Superior Court over their 50 acre usage, in Kennesaw along Barrett Parkway and Hwy 41, Fuqua Development is close to completion on their 50 acre mixed use site, and then there is our location along I575 and Bells Ferry Rd. We are getting calls and emails asking how you can help, what we ask is to continue to have your friends like us on Facebook and sign the petition on our website showing your support for our designed use.
