One more thing checked off on the winter honey-do list! Just a couple more projects that are 90+% done to finish up…

On the FISHING FRONT - we went out Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately the bait shops didn’t have eels yet, so we fished with gulp. The Fishfinder was showing bait here and there, as well as some stripers. Also, saw what was probably schools of perch. At one point there was some surface action, but we were unable to capitalize. Water temps ranged from 46 to 54 (ALLLLL the way in the back), which is a good sign. Once it’s holding at 50 they should get active, and with these warm days coming I’m hoping it’ll be sooner than later.

Upcoming schedule for discounted trips - Monday is open, 2 seats for Tuesday, 2 seats for Wednesday and 2 seats for Friday. After that trips are available twice a day 6 days a week, with 2 open seats Saturday morning and 3 seats for Monday the 14th.

Opening day of flounder is May 4th - morning trip is full, afternoon is available for charter.

Memorial Day weekend is already filling up - Friday and Saturday mornings are still available, as well as Monday morning.

She’s on the move!!! The Jenny Lynn is now one step closer to her slip, at the marina for bottom painting next week.

New for this year - I’ll be running deep discounted trips early April (1st-11th) as the spring striper season picks up. Open boats and private charters.

Starting April 12th, 2 trips a day available for both private charters and open boats. Spring striper private charter trips are available through mid June. Bookings for open boat trips are available through May 3rd. Additional special open boat trips will be made available after the flounder season starts.

Let’s hope the weather is cooperative!!!

New SPECIAL EDITION hat for 2025 season!!! In addition to the 2 tone blue/white and the pink/white, this beauty will also be available to CONTEST WINNERS! All you have to do is be the first person to catch a species of fish and that hat is yours.

The 2025 season will kick off in April, whenever the weather allows, and will target stripers. Summer Flounder are also caught then though we cannot keep them until May 4th, but one will still win you a hat!

It just occurred to me that I never gave Dave his due… so CONGRATULATIONS Dave for winning the pool for the heaviest keeper Striper of 2024, weighing in at 12.33 lbs!!

I’ve know Dave for a long time, back from the Fish Finder days. First he got into a kayak, and from there got himself a Boston whaler, the Fluke Yeah. Many of you know I always make it a point to stop and talk to him out on the water. Well, this was his very first time out on the Jenny Lynn, and he won the pool 😆
