Check out the crazy fun we had on my FIRST river cruise with AmaWaterways 2 years ago on the Rhone River, Arles to Lyon! Rver cruising is such a convenient way to experience multiple countries & intriguing ports easily by unpacking once, having nearly everything included (incl excursions on many lines!), and walking off the ship to explore!

My daughter is deaf, but also utilizes the utterly amazing technology of cochlear implants! She shared Advanced Bionics CI Travel tip:
Going through metal detectors, full body scanners, and X-ray machines?
Metal detectors and security scanners are perfectly safe to go through with your processor and equipment. However, you may activate the alarm and temporarily hear buzzing during the scan. We recommend informing airport security of your cochlear implant and showing your Cochlear Implant Identification Card. You can email [email protected] to request this card!

The Wiener Riesenrad (Vienna's 1897 giant ferris wheel) is about a 20 minute walk from where the Avalon Waterways Envision docked! It's part of the 250 year old Prater amusement park, & a fun (for teens & all!), inexpensive DIY Vienna excursion. $14 per person to ride the Riesenrad.

Our excursion for Viviers, France on AmaWaterways Colors of Provence itinerary on the AmaKristina was all about CUTE DOGS...& I suppose a BIT about truffle farming for the elusive black diamond truffle...And on that note, I did bring home the perfect souvenir: a lovely bottle of truffle oil from Ayme Truffe, would anyone like to come over for dinner?

Our 'walk off the ship' experience in Avignon! PLENTY of time after our excursion to wine & dine at a local-recommended cafe, shop, carousel, then leisurely wander back to the . ❤ the kids playing Uno while parents lunched! 🍷
