We spent our last 2 days in California refreshing and recharging! Having so much to do on site at the resort and yummy restaurants was perfect and so convenient. My daughter and I had a nice resort day while the boys went offsite to golf. Then, after checkout, before our flight home, we went over to Mission Beach and the boardwalk to explore and did a quick pop in to La Jolla to see the sea lions/seals. A great end to a busy week!

We couldn’t be this close to Universal Hollywood and not pop by. Any excuse for a frozen butter beer, am I right?
I DEFINITELY recommend the Early Entrance to Super Nintendo World if that’s important to you. Mario Cart: Bowsers Challenge is adorable and well worth the wait. The theming was amazing throughout the whole land. My kiddos did change their minds and wanted to head out to the explore the rest of the park, literal seconds after I swiped my card for the Power Up bands, so we gifted the band to another sweet little family that had just entered. They were SO excited and grateful, which simmered my eye roll at how quickly my kids changed their minds. Ha.
We opted for the Express Pass for the rest of the park and enjoyed blasting past any line we encountered.
We also decided to stay closer to Universal the night before (LA traffic is no joke!) and chose The Garland. What a great place! The theming is so cute and we really enjoyed the onsite restaurant. Plus, having a shuttle to Universal Hollywood was super convenient. I’d absolutely stay here again!

Trying to catch up because I suck at posting. At least I’m a better Travel Agent than FB poster, haha. I have multiple cruises and other trips, like a whole Universal/Sea World/ Discovery Cove/Disney After Hours trips from just this last year that I didn’t post a single picture. 🫣
I’ll try to go back and create some content. What’s the Facebook version of a ???
Here’s a quick Disneyland park post. 🏰🏰🏰
I cannot stress how much staying on site and taking advantage of Early Entry helps. I mean, rope dropping helps you get so much more done, and with Early Entry, you get that, plus it’s like being first in line for rope drop essentially. Coupled with Genie+, we were cranking and had hit everything by mid afternoon. The best!
And since the food is one of my favorite parts (and where I apparently don’t take photos)…I started off my day with the breakfast chimichanga from the stand outside of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (wish I had one now), sampled the viral warm chocolate chip cookies from Harbour Galley (amazing), and refueled with the House Gumbo for lunch at Tiana’s Palace (gonna be honest…while good, there’s SO many yummier options around the park, but I’m glad I tried it).
It’s so hard to balance the “creating content for my business” and being in the moment with my family thing. So I have 2 pics of this day. One of me cheesin’ with the hubs. And one of our Space Mountain ride, where I was laughing because my husband closed his eyes (so did I for that matter) when the light flashed but it made him look so bored and uninterested, haha.

One of the best parts of staying on site at Disneyland is how close the resorts are to the parks and Downtown Disney. This makes it simple to pop back to the room for midday naps for younger kiddos (or adults, ha). Or like today, when the rain moved in, it was a great opportunity to refresh, regroup, & grab some drinks at the hotel bar before heading back for round 2 this evening. Where I have a harder time doing this at Disney World, it’s so easy here!

When your son has a 7v7 football tournament in San Diego the weekend before Spring Break and the question on where to go for Spring Break gets answered right away…
Just checked into the Disneyland Hotel, got dinner at Black Tap (literally crave that burger salad), some shopping at Downtown Disney, and popped into the express line at Jazz Kitchen to get beignets on the way back to the room. Early night tonight to get ready for Early Entry to California Adventure first thing in the morning. Be sure to follow along with our adventures! It’s Food & Wine Fest time too at California Adventure. Feels like kismet! 😀

✨TRAVEL AGENT TRUTH FOR 2023!✨
Well, here we are, on the back end of 🎄Christmas🎄, sliding quickly into 2023! 🥳 This year, from a travel standpoint, has been a huge success! I've seen a record number of people traveling to even more beautiful places. From the looks of it so far, 2023 will outpace 2022 by a wide margin. I AM READY FOR IT!!!
After 9 years as a travel agent (WOWZA!), I have learned and want to share some money saving ideas with you!
🧳Vacation destinations are willing to offer more discounts further out than before, as they want to fill their rooms early! This is to YOUR benefit! (Beaches Resorts, Sandals Resorts, Cruises especially)
🧳So, people are booking futher out than ever before to capture better availability and better pricing. Pricing creeps up as time goes on. Most land packages will offer a refundable deposit so changing dates later is usually easy. (Disney, Universal, Beaches, Sandals, Sea World, and more!)
🧳Last minute bookings are harder and harder to make and are more expensive - but I help with them often. Don't hesitate if you want to go.
🧳There are occasional last minute rates (military, GTY on cruises, etc) and these are designed to just finish up selling inventory on cruise ships. But, you won't find the best rooms for the best price on the best ships as things will be picked over. Be flexible.
🧳Military rates at Disney and Universal are better booked FAR out, so book NOW for 2023! In fact, Universal's miltary offer is like an annual pass, so it is good for the entire year (some blackout). Smart to start that as early in 2023 to get the most usage!
🧳If you don't have your Spring Break or Summer vacation booked yet, I would advise that you make plans with me this week! It is going to be booked solid by the second week of January!
🧳WAVE SEASON (overload of clients all at once) is almost here, which means by mid-January, I will be "in-the-weeds" with clients booking their trips for 2023 and 2024. Usually I will do 2/3 of my entire year's business between Jan-March. I LOVE IT!
🧳If you book your Disney / Universal trip early, you will then qualify for my discount monitoring. Meaning, if a better applicable promotion comes out, then I will automatically apply it and save you money.
🧳Generally, "waiting for deals" does not necessarily result in saved money, as often the price goes up before a discount is applied. Booking early and then checking the future deals is the best way to save.
I hope that helps! The way we book trips now has changed a lot in the last 10 years. My biggest piece of advice - Book your trip early to save the most amount of money and use a travel agent that automatically will check for deals - ME!
Hope that helps! Ready to grab your next trip when you are.

🌴Beaches Resorts

🌴Mexico and Caribbean
🌴and lots more!

Day 7!
This is our last day here. I can’t believe all of the things that we’ve been able to do on this trip. We started our day with breakfast at the hotel. They had a beautiful continental buffet and then you could order a la carte as well. This was no Holiday Inn Express buffet. They had unique options like honeycomb and bottles of cold brew and detox smoothies. It was awesome! Afterwards we left our hotel for a quick drive to the Stones of Sacsayhuaman, which is lovingly referred to as “Sexy Woman”. Not only were the views over the city of Cusco impressive, it was interesting to hear about the history behind the location. At one point, our Adventure Guides sprinkled another magical moment and gifted us each with a “quipu”. This colorful stringed device was used by the Incas to collect data and keep records. Similar to an abacus. After touring Sacsayhuaman, we walked into town to visit a local musician and learn about all the unique instruments that they used. At the end of the demonstration, we were given the opportunity to put together our own instruments and play. I don’t think our group will be booking any gigs anytime soon. But the experience was fun and created another souvenir to bring home to remember this remarkable trip. we had the rest of the afternoon to ourselves, and I went off with a fellow Adventurer to keep exploring the town of Cusco and have lunch. That’s one thing I want to touch on with group travel like this. I’ve met SO many amazing people. It truly felt like we were traveling as a group of friends. We all hung out at meals, told jokes, encouraged each other to conquer the physical tasks on the trip that may have been daunting to some, etc. Shoot! One Adventurer had a their airline lose their bag and another shared his clothes with him for days until the bag was finally tracked down and delivered! It made for so many funny jokes and moments, but also a special “faith restored” sentiment that hung with us the entire trip. I know I’ll keep in touch with several of the people I met this week. Just one of the “off itinerary” takeaways from this experience. My new friend and I tried out the Inka Grill where I had the most incredible Lomo Saltado. 🚨New favorite comfort food alert! 🚨 This dish is made with seared and stir fried sirloin, fresh veggies, a rich brown sauce made out of soy sauce and other ingredients, and served with white rice and French fries. 🤤🍴🤤 We followed this up with ice cream creations at a cute little spot called Qucharitas. This whimsical spot gave you the option of making your own creation or trying one of their recommended combos. I chose the chocolate with peanut butter and caramel. My friend chose to have theirs in a “spongey cone” which was a cone layered with cotton candy. When we finished, we walked the square, took pictures of the beautiful buildings, and popped by a small market for candies to bring home. We ended our night with our Farewell Dinner. This was a lively event with entertainment from and dancing with cultural representations of what we experienced on our trip. It was fun to be reminded of some of the stories we’d talked about from the first days and the perfect wrap up of our trip. When we began this trip, at our Welcome Dinner, we went around and introduced ourselves and named the thing we were excited about the most. This night, we went around and said our favorite thing we saw or experienced. This was an emotional sharing with many tears had by all. It was touching to see the personal achievements that stuck with people and the “off itinerary” experiences that were the unexpected takeaways. Most everyone had a similar sentiment where, yes, (fill in the blank) was amazing to see but it was the cultural immersion, the connections with the fellow Adventurers, etc that made this trip unforgettable. I for one am leaving Peru changed. Not only by the things I experienced and was blessed enough to be a part of, but with how I want to interact with the world and people moving forward. And how I want my precious vacation time to look. Thank you for coming along with me! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions about my trip or experience. I can’t wait to help you all plan something unforgettable as well!

Day 6!
Today was a welcomed low-key day after all of our active and busy days. After waking up, we had a wonderful breakfast and then had to say goodbye to the remarkable Sol y Luna. I’m honestly not sure I’ve ever stayed in a place that’s not only that beautiful, but the service we were given totally spoiled us. Everyone there was so eager to help and truly seemed excited to have us there and share their beautiful country with us.
After checking out, we hopped in our motor coach to Pisac Market. Along the way, we stopped by a little stand that was selling roasted Guinea pig. This is a Peruvian meal that is often enjoyed at times of celebration. Being that I’m a picky eater and don’t even like when my food touches, I did not partake.
After this quick stop, we continued to the market. Lined with colorful stalls, we were able to shop for souvenirs and practice bartering skills. Before disbursing, our Adventure Guides gave us each 20 Sols to buy a White Llama gift (like a White Elephant gift, but with a Peruvian flair) to exchange at our Farewell Dinner tomorrow. I purchased a few souvenirs for family and friends, and a little sterling silver llama and chain for myself. We then boarded our coaches to the Camelids Center to hang out with and learn about llamas and alpacas. As if that wasn’t fun enough, our Adventure Guides announced we were going to have a llama selfie contest. This turned out to not be as easy of a task as it sounds. When we finished up at the Camelids Center, we had a short 15 minute bus ride to Cusco’s city center. Here we had lunch and walked to our next hotel, the Palacio del Inka Hotel. This beautiful hotel was once a palatial 16th century estate and the summer house of Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro. In the middle of bustling Cusco, this location is a sharp contrast to our peaceful home the last several days. When we arrived in our room, our luggage was magically already there and waiting for us. We had the rest of the afternoon and evening to ourselves! We spent our time shopping and walking around with our fellow Adventurers. I’ve already got my eye on a few locations to take photos tomorrow to share with you guys! When we went back up to our room tonight, we had turndown service, but I loved the back of the card that gave us weather details for what to expect tomorrow. ‘Til then…

Day 5! Today we set off early to spend the day at Machu Picchu.
Ok. Confession time. Those of you that know me in real life know that I’m NOT an outdoorsy person. I’m a terrible Colorado resident. I don’t ski/snowboard. I don’t hike. I hate being cold. Or hot. In fact, there’s like a 2 degree range where I’m satisfied with the temperature. And that’s only if it’s not windy. So when the opportunity for this trip came up, I was a bit hesitant. With all the hikes, the itinerary didn’t immediately speak to me. I can honestly say that this experience has changed me. Every single day of this trip has gotten better and better. I wish the photos translated what I was seeing better. The scenery in UN-real. And with the way our Adventure Guides take us through each site, at no time did it feel like something we couldn’t conquer. I would be SO sad if I missed this experience because it definitely took me out of my box and pushed me to the edge of my comfort zone, where amazing things happened. Am I going to buy a ski pass for this winter when I get home and start shopping at REI? I am not. But I can honestly say that this trip has already taken me out of my beach vacation box and has me itching for my next adventure, this time with my family.
After breakfast, we boarded our coach on Peru Rail, which took us to the town of Aguas Calientes. This train was so cool! With windows all around and above us, we got a near 360 view of the beautiful sights on our 1.5 hour ride, including the Urubamba River that we rafted a couple days ago. Once there, we took a motor coach to the Sancuary Lodge at the entrance of Machu Picchu to fuel up before our afternoon of hiking. Going through my camera roll, I have shot after shot of these stunning views, only to turn around and have my breath taken away again. After reaching our “summit”, we began our decent into the lost city of Machu Picchu. Our Adventure Guides found ways to make magic with a surprise scavenger hunt with the prize being an Incan cross necklace for each of us. The extra magic continued when our train back to Sol y Luna encountered mechanical problems. Our Adventure guides bought out all the snacks left on the train for us and entertained us with contests. This is the Disney difference. People hear Disney and think Mickey Mouse is going to pop out from behind the ruins. The Disney theming is subtle, like naming our 2 groups we were split into by The Emperors New Groove characters, but the distinction is in the Disney level of service. And the family friendly immersive itineraries designed, waiting for your family’s next great adventure, though each destination also has adult only adventures you can choose.

Day 4!
Y‘all. I live in Colorado. I see mountains on the daily. I’ve never seen mountains like these. So big. So expansive. So breathtaking!
We started our day off with another breakfast from the team at Sol y Luna. I’m actually sad for my future self, having to cook and get my own drinks myself. They take care of us so well here. Afterwards we took our motorcoach to the ruins of Moray. We were able to walk the circular terraces while we learned about the history behind them. Following that, we went to the Salt Pans of Maras where local families have been mining salt for over 500 years. I closed all my rings on my watch early today!
After lunch back at Sol y Luna, Adventurers were free to enjoy the afternoon as they wished. We chose to partake in the optional activity being offered, a trip to the food market and a tour of Pablo Seminario’s pottery studio. I’m so grateful that I chose to not stay behind at the resort, as this was my most favorite part so far. We explored the food market, where we could purchase things to bring home, like chocolate and coffee. The Peruvians KNOW how to do coffee and chocolate! After we checked out, our Adventure Guides gathered us up and told us that they were giving us each 10 Soles to try out our Spanish and buy whatever we could to contribute to dinner tonight, which included a cooking demonstration and pizza making back at the hotel. We were given about 10 minutes, and in true Amazing Race like fashion, we all scattered, on our hunt. When we gathered at the end of our time, we were told that we weren’t really collecting for dinner. Peruvian culture is heavily based on being thankful for the things one has, and giving, rather than asking to be blessed with more. With this in mind, our local Adventure Guide had identified 2 people that would greatly benefit from some additional blessings. We walked as a group to the first, a little girl who was 8 yrs old and beginning to work at her moms stand, we filled up a bag of half of our purchases. Next we went to an elderly woman. In her 70s, she’d worked at that little stand, selling alfalfa, for other 50 years. We filled up a bag and gave her our remaining purchases. Both people were so grateful. This was a very powerful moment for me, and I feel blessed to have been a part of this experience. We continued our walk to Pablo Seminario’s studio. He designed the building himself, and not only was his art beautiful, so was his studio/home.
We completed the evening with a cooking demonstration and pizza and Pisco Sour making back at Sol y Luna. I’m exhausted, but my heart, soul, (and belly) are full!
