Did you know October 8th is National Cowboy Boots Day?

I didn’t either. So in honor of National Cowboy Boots Day, this is an appreciation post about my absolute favorite pair of boots!

Feast your eyes on The Whitley by the legendary that was founded in Texas in 1879.

I love them so much that I have ‘em in every color. 💛🖤💙🤎♥️

These boots are so comfortable that I will gladly wear them to places where you do a ton of walking like the or . And they always turn heads! You can’t beat a pair of boots like that.

Only one day left until opening day of the GREAT ! Are you planning a fair day this year?

🤠 Register to be a Big Tex insider for daily discount codes to save $$$

🚙 Gate 11 is my favorite because it’s easier to get in and out of than the main gates. This entrance lets you start your fair day in the Midway or the livestock barns.

🎟 Food & ride tickets from previous years are still good so if you have any, bring ‘em!

🥤 Invest in a Big Tex cup and you get discounted soda & tea refills. It’s truly a wise investment because you can bring the cup back year after year.

🎡 Save a ton of money on “Thrilling Tuesdays” when most Midway rides are discounted. And on “Thrifty Thursdays” you’ll find discounted food items.

🛍️ Don’t miss all the exhibits and shopping. Go into ALL the buildings. Especially the Pavilion & General Store where you’ll find tons of Texas brands and Texas made goods

✨ Most importantly, don’t be a rookie and buy a “corn dog.” If the line you’re standing in doesn’t lead to a yellow and red booth that says , you’re making a big mistake my friend. Mark my words!

We watched the eclipse in Clarksville, Texas. This town is near and dear to my heart. Both sides of my family have deep roots here. So many of my happiest memories have happened in this sweet little town and this is a pretty incredible one to add to the list!

Clarksville, the county seat of Red River County, is a town that’s older than the Republic of Texas. It’s where Davy Crockett spent his first night after crossing the Red River on his journey to the Alamo. But despite a rich history, Clarksville has seen much better days. It was simply magical watching this town that I love so much fill up with tourists from all over and the world for this historic event!!!

Happy Texas Independence Day, y’all! 🤠

On this day in 1836, the Republic of Texas declared its independence from Mexico. The siege at the Alamo was still happening and its defenders lost their battle without ever knowing Texas declared independence.

Dang, it sure is going to be a beautiful day today. How ironic is it that I want to find a patio and spend the day drinking margaritas and eating chips & salsa? TEXAS FOREVER!
