My dear friend and herbal colleague Lisa Scott has hard-earned wisdom and lots of practical advice for women experiencing the scalding pain and too-many-other-issues-to count from central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia – CCCA. Black women are most affected by this condition - and we all know the barriers that Black women face receiving medical access and attentive care.

Please share this post and with the people in your life who need it, and can follow her story and travel along - more resouced and less isolated.

Since I was diagnosed with central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia – CCCA – I've vacillated between fighting for my hair and letting it all go. My highest self could care less about hair, but my ego is fully invested.

Reflections on the eve of Passover - and for those who observe, may it be a sweet one. It appears, once again, that we are the Elijah we have been waiting for.

Life under Covid. Again. Still. Vaccination dangled (just?) out of reach.

After many adjustments to Pandemic life 11months ago, the bits of “freedom" that Moderna promises provokes many feelings, including vaccination envy.

Reflections on when injustices remain unaddressed while the clock never runs out.

Black History Month in a Groundhog Year: I reflect on centuries of Black and Brown peoples' survival of bone-crunching, spirit-defying control.

So the House has voted articles of impeachment. The National Guard patrols and sleeps in the Capitol. Yet another wall now surrounds the Capitol. Let's talk about how we can help bring back the world, and I don't mean a return to some imagined glory day.

Impeachment Redux: the House has impeached the sitting President a second time – – a necessary and insufficient action to rectify events, the extent of which will not be even known to us for some time. So it is up to us to answer this question posed by Kansas-born poet William Stafford, a consci...

What does it mean to “neighbor”? How will I “neighbor” in my neighborhood? And how will I “neighbor” in the wider world – Baltimore? America? the world? How will I also think locally – as in you, and you, and you – are my neighbors as I act globally?
How about you?

...from my neighborhood, from the red house in the middle of the block. What does it mean to "neighbor" - making "neighbor" a noun for the moment?
