Due to the overwhelming boat participation last year, we have redesigned the boat route. The map is a guide for:
- Where the boats will meet up (same)
- Which lagoons to go down (mostly same, minor changes)
- Which side on which night (same)
- Which way the parade will go (traffic pattern – significant change)
TOP 10 THINGS TO KNOW:
1. Boats will meet at Midway circle approximately 8:30pm. Typically, boats circle around several times before “take off” which is around 8:45pm. Watch for the “Snowman” pontoon boat which leads the boats.
2. Captains, a reminder to keep a large distance from the boat in front of you. Many boats may need to back up in order to make some of the turns in the lagoons.
3. Parade route: Friday, 17Jul2020 is west of Twin Lakes Blvd – Saturday, 18Jul2020 is east of Twin Lakes Blvd
4. The parade goes to as many lagoons as possible, refer to map as a reference, unfortunately, there isn’t enough time to do all of them. You can view the parade at any of the end streets on Twin Lakes Blvd where you see an arrow.
5. Decorate your house, dock, boat, you! Your energy is what makes this parade so much fun! And if we thought 2018 was great, 2019 was definitely the most participated!
6. Parade observers: DO NOT swim in the lagoons if you see the boat parade coming, or jump in while we are passing. You may see us, but we may not see you!
7. In fact, keep our pathway as safe as possible. If you know there's a potential hazard for the parade, let us know in advance - or clear the path, just like you would if this were your street.
8. Tell your neighbors – Facebook only reaches so many people, but word of mouth is an amazing way of getting this out to the community!
9. No kayaks, SUPs, jet skis, waverunners, paddleboats, etc. in the parade.
10. We keep an eye on the weather – we will keep you posted if there are any changes due to weather.
BONUS: We are still in a global pandemic. Follow NJ state guidelines (covid19.nj.gov/). Stay well and be kind.
