🔥Exciting news! We just purchased a wood burning stove for Celeste cabin!

Big thanks to one of our guests who found a great deal for a great price on a great stove. If you’re looking to get off grid with some friends this winter we will now have two cabins with heat available 🔥🔥🔜

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year from River Run Cabins.

Thank you for your support. We appreciate all of the kind words from the local community and help from neighbors and friends to open this beautiful land up to guests.

This year we were able to

🪵Launch Celeste cabin. Our 2nd cabin made from logs harvested mindfully from our land and built in the traditional Maine log cabin style by local craftsman (see picture/ link in comments)
🛶Add several additional kayaks and a kayak stand.
🚐 Purchase and start Renovations on a large camper, soon to be glamper, for guests to enjoy this coming year.
🪑Add an amazing Deck to Dale cabin. The original cabin built in the 70’s. So guests can watch the river from the porch.
🔥Enlarge the fire pit
🥾 Add trails that wind through the woods on both sides of the 40 acre property around the river.

We look forward to 2025 and continuing to invest in this being an ecofriendly destination for the nature minded traveler.

Winter camping at the cabins is in full swing. We have several regulars and many new campers joining us this year.

With the wood burning stove you can keep the original log cabin nice and toasty. Be sure to bring your winter gear and get ready for some beautiful outdoor winter fun on the river. ❄️

So happy to read that Maine has healthy numbers of loons. Wildlife stability and habitat conservation is key to all of us living healthy happy and meaningful lives.

Maine Audubon says this was a very good year for Maine loons, as every single number associated with the annual count went up.

🔥 It’s been a busy fall season with visitors from far and near coming to stay at River Run cabins.

Guests have been staying warm and toasty in Dale cabin with the antique wood burning stove. It keeps the wood cabin nice and warm. The warmed wood smells pleasant and helps to keep heat in even as the fire dies down for the evening.

It also doubles as a small stove top for heating a kettle of water for an evening relaxing tea or cup of noodles. 🍜

🔥Note: this means it is very hot. Nothing should ever be left on a wood burning stove. Even if it’s “off. ” cast iron gets and stays extremely hot for long periods of time. 🔥

🌬️While you’ll still need your weather appropriate sleeping bag and gear at River Run, you can rest comfortably knowing a warm fire awaits from your walk through the winding trails along the each side of the river.

AUGUSTA — Secretary of State Shenna Bellows announced the winner of the Maine State Flag Redesign Contest – Adam Lemire of Gardiner – on Monday and unveiled his design which was chosen as the model design for the potential new flag.
