More ways you're spending more money than you need to at Disney!
Save for later!
What have I missed? Comment your best Disney money saving tip!
1) Not staying at a Disney resort. Yes, yes I know. This is controversial. When you look at resort prices vs nearby hotels or Airbnbs, it of course looks more expensive, but... there's a lot more to it than that, especially value resorts. For one, staying off-site means paying for transportation and possibly parking. Ubers and car rentals add up fast. Secondly, staying off-site means not being able to take advantage of Disney special package offers which sometimes gives you free kid's tickets, free meal plans, or discounted rooms. If you're looking to save money, Disney value resorts are where it's at!
2) Using your Magic Band to pay for things... or possibly not. Doing so makes it extremely hard to track how much money you've spent, because it's similar to charging to your room. The charges don't show up immediately and they don't show up separately. However, depending on what credit card you use, paying with your Magic Band could also mean that those charges show up as travel charges instead of retail charges. If you're using a travel benefits credit card, your Magic Band could get you extra points! So this one kinda depends on your situation!
3) Not using Disney gift cards. If you're not looking for those extra credit card points mentioned in number 1, then you should be looking for ways to both budget and save by using Disney gift cards. If you have a Target red card, head over to Target and buy enough Disney gift cards to cover what you want to spend for your entire trip. Not only does this help you keep track of purchases and let you know exactly when you hit your budget, but red cards also give you 5% off those gift cards. Another option is to head to Sam's Club where you can buy Disney gift cards for less than their value!
4) Not skipping weekends. If you arrive on Monday and leave on Friday, your hotel will be
Say goodbye to huge crowds and high prices. If you can make any of these dates work, lines will be shorter and your trip will be cheaper! Highly recommend going the year before your oldest kid enters kindergarten. This makes hitting these dates a lot easier, and it's honestly a GREAT age to take them.

Going to Disney, especially for the first time, is... a lot, but I promise you don't need to go find less!
Follow for all the tips and tricks!
But here's the truth:
There is no "right way" to do Disney. Sure you can look up strategies. You can follow detailed plans, but ultimately your trip needs to be what you want it to be. Everyone is different! If you're not a person that wants to wake up at 5 am everyday and stay in the parks until they close, THEN DON'T.
Making yourself miserable is not one of our vacation goals this year!
A great (and free) travel agent will be able to explain all the terms in the video that you've never heard before, teach you how to navigate them all effectively, but also tailor everything to give you the vacation you want. Not the vacation that the internet tries to convince you you have to have.
Did you know you're paying for a travel agent every time you book your own vacation?
Travel agent fees are built into the rates you book, so you're paying for one whether you use the service or not!
When you book through me, I charge absolutely nothing to my clients. I get paid commission straight from the booking company whether that be Disney, Universal, cruise lines, all-inclusives, Expedia, hotel brands, or several others. That is a commission coming out of your pocket either way!
Do you want to get a service for that money? Or would you rather those companies keep that money but do nothing for it?
Travel agents have inside tips and tricks. They know about any current special offers. They know how to get the most bang for your buck. They know how to support you both before and during your trip. They know what is worth the money and what is completely overrated, and THEY DO ALL THE WORK.
We can also tailor our services to exactly what you want. Want to keep full control over the process, but still get the free expertise? Or do you want a turnkey vacation handed to you on a silver platter? Just let us be the ones to hit that "book now" button and we can perfectly deliver what you need.

We all know Disney is expensive, but these things are costing you even more money!
Save this for later!
1) Not visiting the front desk at your resort! We all LOVE mobile check in, but if you visit the front desk, they have coupons and vouchers for multiple things waiting for you!
2) Not asking for an upgrade at check in! Nothing is guaranteed of course, but you never know until you ask. Disney has a huge reputation for allowing their cast members to do whatever is necessary to make sure people's vacations are magical. Tell them what you're celebrating (even if you're just celebrating life) and see what they say!
3) Not using the DAS program (if you qualify)! DAS is an amazing program built on accessibility for all. If you have any medical reason that makes waiting in a queue difficult, then the DAS program essentially gives you a free version of genie +. There is no definitive list of what qualifies as DAS is built around your own experiences and symptoms rather than diagnoses, but I've seen asthma, ADHD, autism, crowd anxiety, overstimulation issues, and several others be approved. I love spreading the word about DAS because a lot of people don't know it exists, but please do not try to take advantage of this program! Leave it for those that need it.
4) Not visiting in January and February! I know most people aren't thinking about vacations in the first two months of the year, but that's exactly why Disney Resorts are much cheaper during those times!
5) Not booking early enough! Disney rewards those that book early. Prices go up the closer you get to your vacation.
6) Not being a Disney+ subscriber! Disney is focused on growing Disney+, so they often offer Disney deals exclusively for Disney+ subscribers!
Wanna meet lots of characters at Disney World? We were able to get 25 character signatures during our trip without waiting in huge lines. Here's how to maximize your meet and greets!
1) If meeting characters is a priority, get reservations to as many character dinners as you can. With character dinners, your favorite characters come to you as you eat a delicious meal, and typically there are at least 4 characters to meet at each one, sometimes way more!
2) Get to the parks early and go straight to your top priority characters!
3) Utilize parade times! Parades in the park pull huge crowds, meaning that lines for meet and greets are much shorter than at other times of the day.
4) Make sure to check that app! The myDisneyExperience app will have real time info on where characters are and how long the current wait is.
5) Look for places with multiple characters in one spot! The Princess Fairytale Hall is a great place for this!
6) Use those genie plus reservations! Select character meets are available for genie plus return times and this is a huge way to cut out those wait times.

What I'm thinking about this Valentine's Day...
Mickey Beignets are only available in one location at Disney World, but it's worth the journey! You can find them at Scat Cat's Club in Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. If you're not staying there or at a nearby resort, then you can take a boat from Disney Springs!

If you're a thrill seeker, Universal is the place for you! If you've planned a short trip or maybe you just added one day to your Disney trip to head over to Universal, here's a strategy to get the most thrill in only ONE day at the parks.
Tips:
1) Stay at a Universal Resort the night before. This gives you access to early park admission and gets you in the park an hour before it opens to others. Not a necessary step, but definitely a huge perk.
2) Arrive 1 hour before early park admission starts. This may be a super early morning, but if getting on all thrill rides in one day is your goal, it'll be worth it!
3) Make sure you get a park-to-park ticket so you can enter both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios FL on the same day.
4) Upgrade to the Universal Express Pass to skip the lines! With the plan below, express pass is usually not required to make it onto all of these rides, but it will give you the time to do way more than just the thrill rides!
5) Start at Islands of Adventure and ride the rides in the order listed below!
Thrill Rides at Islands of Adventure:
1) Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure
2) VelociCoaster
3) The Incredible Hulk
4) Dr. Doom's Fearfall
Thrill Rides at Universal Studios Florida:
5) Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
6) Revenge of the Mummy
7) Harry Potter Escape from Gringotts
Most of the time, you'll be done by early afternoon and then you have time to explore whatever is left!

Yer a wizard, Harry.
Step into Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, and coming soon, the Ministry of Magic. Universal Studios is opening a brand new park in 2025 which will include a whole new section for Potterheads along with 4 other areas. In addition to this Universal Epic Universe, 2025 will bring 3 gorgeous new resorts!

✨Resort Spotlight✨
Disney's BoardWalk Inn is in the Deluxe Resort category, and is based on turn-of-the-century Atlantic City. With a whimsy carnival vibe mixed with modern luxury, it has something for the entire family.
The BoardWalk Inn has one of the best locations of all resorts. You can hop on the Skyliner to visit both Epcot and Hollywood Studios or you can even WALK to both of those parks as well. Not only that, but you can walk to THREE other resorts to visit their restaurants, shops, or just to look around. If those options aren't what you're looking for that day, you can hop on a boat for transportation as well.
The BoardWalk Inn offers great dining options, both quick service and table service as well as a lounge, a magic themed bar, a piano bar, a dance hall, and a margarita stand.
With all it has to offer and its location, BoardWalk Inn is an amazing option!
