AH! I’d like to ask for help from any friend, family member or FOF with a few minutes of spare time. I just finished Fair Travel Co.’s first official brochure. Before I start churning this template out for other trips (Glamping, Monarchs, Baja Foodie), I’d LOVE to get some feedback.

If you put yourself in a potential traveler’s shoes, does this brochure have the information you’re looking for? Is it enticing? Overwhelming? Awesome? Way off the mark? Need to be rearranged? More legible? More videos? Something specific you want to see? Something specific I should cut? More consistent branding? Edits?

If you miraculously have more than a few min, I’d also love feedback on the experience of the landing page, form and follow up email.

Grab a red pen 🖊️ and help a girl out! 🙌🏻 🙏🏻. And don’t worry, I truly believe all feedback is a gift and I know I asked for it 😅.

Discover the untouched beauty of Svalbard with our immersive brochure. Dive into the Arctic wonderland through captivating visuals and insightful narratives. Embark on a journey of exploration and conservation with Fair Travel Co. Unveil the mysteries of Svalbard today.

EXPEDITION DAY 5: It was HARD to leave the island, but wow did the universe have an epic day in store for us. We slowly woke up on the panga back to La Paz. Just as we arrived, we were greeted by a large pod of . Every side of the boat was surrounded by playful groups darting in every direction!

loaded our bags into the van while the rest of us jumped into the Wahoo! Belén was an amazing guide leading us to swim alongside juvenile whale sharks. The energy afterwards was electric and contagious! 3 hours well spent. And, for us, it was very cool to see the new protections in action.

Next we checked into our rooms at a 4-star hotel. Glamping is AMAZING, but after 3 days in the salt water it feels so luxurious to stand in the warmth of a HOT SHOWER.

Our Fair Travel Mama .bloyd met up with us at the hotel. Our enjoyed a bit of freedom until dinner. Some swam at the hotel pool and bar, others hit up the art museum, the coffee shops, and walked the lively .

Very few people have the experience of staying overnight on Isla Espiritu Santo, but doing so allows you to immerse yourself and take in the island in ways day trippers aren’t able to enjoy in such a short time. We feel extremely grateful for the opportunity.

¡Buenos dÍas! My voice may be a bit groggy, but we are all officially on 'Baja Time.' Something happens here in the nature, activity, heat and sun: The body naturally wakes for the sunrise and is ready for bed by 9PM. As a genetic night owl, I find it particualrly incredulous and awe-inspiring. The reward: beautiful colors and relaxing mornings.

DAY 5: We're off to La Paz to swim with the whale sharks in just a few hours. Follow along the expedition in our stories!

EXPEDITION DAY 4: Today is a magical day that photos can’t quite do justice. Just, Wow!

We woke at sunrise to the Sea of Cortez as calm and glassy as a lake. The sunrise painted the water purple with hints of pink. We had two breakfasts: cold breakfast and hot breakfast. By 8AM we were out on the water on our way to the sea lion colony. Early arrival ensured we had the place to ourselves.

From here the day was full of surprises! We saw multiple groups of mobula rays feeding in the waters surrounding the colony. At this time of year the sighting is quite special. The rocks were full of juveniles of all ages. Locals have been swimming with them for generations, so each individual has grown up with humans since birth. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t respect them as wild animals. Before jumping in, our local guide, Sebastian, taught us a bit about sea lion behavior to read their queues. Bubbles, quick charges, or large males mean, “back off!” Only one sea lion blew bubbles at us, however: a young pup practicing for when he’s of age.

The surface pups enjoyed tugging on the rope from our life preserver. Some flipped on their backs and looked at us upside down. A few ethical roamers followed suit! The most playful sea lions engaged with divers below us, playfully (and gently) bitting arms and fins.

Our founder took the hint and free dove to a pup in a sea cave. It chewed on a white oyster shell like a canine puppy might a chew toy. She tossed a rock: no interest. A shell: no interest. On the third dive she found a bright white piece of coral...this got the pup’s attention! He quickly swiped it then dropped it for her to catch. And so the game continued!

Circling the island we visited multiple: landmarks: Las Ventanas, a sea cave w/ natural windows, islands from last night’s stories, and a pirate escape route. When we thought all surprises were behind us, our panga was escorted by two breaching humpbacks: a mother and calf.

Not bad before noon!

EXPEDITION DAY 3: Today we're off to Isla Espiritu Santo!

First order of business: We need to stop at the warehouse in La Paz to get all Ethical Roamers fitted for snorkeling gear and wet suits, then it's on to the boats and out into the Sea of Cortez!

Our private Glamping Camp is located in a National Marine Park, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is one of the best marine life viewing destinations in the world. Whales, dolphins, whale sharks, sea turtles, manta rays and plenty of beautiful tropical fish call the surrounding waters home, while a terrific range of bird species including Blue-footed Bo***es, Reddish Egrets, Great Blue Herons, Brown Pelicans and Yellow-footed Gulls frequent the island’s skies and shores.

The island itself is stunning, with magnificent towering cliffs, spectacular sandy bays, amazing lava rock formations, and rock art left by the now-extinct Guaycura and Pericu Indians. There’s even an endemic ring-tailed cat, the babisuri. It’s a remarkable place to explore.

We’ll spend the days doing exactly what pleases us — kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, swimming with sea lions, stand up paddle boarding, bird watching, and exploring hidden lagoons and desert beaches. Hanging around doing nothing, reading trashy novels and sipping margaritas are also highly encouraged.

Duchenne smiles all around! What is the ‘Duchenne’ smile hypothesis? It theorizes smiles that include eye constriction are a natural response to genuine joy and amusement. In other words, if you don’t see it, the emotion isn’t real. But when it is, it’s beautiful!

As you scroll, check the eyes. They’ll tell you what’s real and what’s not. 😉

Today's the day! Well, technically it's not...😅. We were having too much fun and exploring some areas a little too remote for consistent day-to-day updates. We wanted you to be able to follow along on the expedition, so we made a ton of recordings for you! Now that we're back in Wi-Fi range we're going to share them!

On Feb 1 we picked up our first group of ethical roamers from the Los Cabos airport. They each landed to a traditional Cabo welcome: a shot and a beer (...or a NA margarita for those under age).

Our first and only hiccup for 6 days was that our first traveller arrived 30 minutes early and almost everyone else landed ~4 hours late. So, us early arrivals jumped in the van with Miguel for a spontaneous lunch at + mezcal tasting in San Jose del Cabo.

We spent the first night in Todos Santos, a beach town with laid-back vibes. Each casita had magnificent views of the Pacific ocean, the palm grove oasis, and the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. After a delicious welcome meal some roamers immediately crashed while others hung out in the hot tub for late night star gazing and contrast bathing. Our founder wrote each guest a post card expressing how honored we were (and still are) to have them on Fair Travel's first expedition. It was a day she'll never forget!

Gray whales and whale sharks are similar in size! Despite their similarities, their feeding habits are quite different, and therefore so are your experiences with these giants when you travel to see them in Baja.

Whale sharks filter feed on planktonic organisms like krill, jellyfish, and crab larvae. Gray whales primarily eat amphipod crustaceans which they dig up from the sea floor. Feeding almost exclusively occurs during summer in cold northern waters. The whales survive off fat reserves while migrating and during winter breeding in Mexico’s tropical waters.

What behavior should you expect in Baja?
Whale Sharks will be feeding while you’re swimming. Their strong, grithy tails will keep them in a vertical position while they feed at the surface. When they are done, you’ll be surprised by the speed in which they can dart away!

Gray whale behavior depends a lot on where you see them: In the southern Chukchi Sea and northern Bering Sea they are preoccupied with feeding. In Alaska and British Columbia they can be spotted near the shoreline rubbing barnacles off their bodies against the dark rocks. In Monterey and Big Sur, California, you’ll observe traveling behavior as they steadily make their way south. In Baja, you can observe a range of behaviors: breeding, spyhopping, and social behaviors, but rarely feeding behaviors. You can also witness the most unique behavior of all: bringing their newborn calves up to small pangas to interact with the gentle seafarers. This behavior is particularly interesting because gray whales were formerly aggressive toward whaling ships and are not keen to approach vessels so closely in other waters.

Winter is peak whale watching season in Mexico's Baja California Sur! It's possible to see blue whales, humpback whales, and gray whales—all of which are raising or birthing new calves at this time of year.

If you pay close attention, you're likely to discern various feeding, mating, and social behaviors.

We take special care to avoid regions and captains who engage in "chasing" whales. We visit a lagoon where the gray whale mothers feel particularly safe, curious, and playful. Specially trained fisherman run the pangas (small boats) and only locals from the town are able to join the cooperative. They utilize a flag system. If a flag is available, the boats can go out. If all the flags are taken, the captains wait patiently on the shore until another boat comes in and passes off their flag.

While we usually advocate for observing wildlife at a distance, the result of this effort is that the gray whale mothers and calves are happy to approach the boats themselves (no chasing or active engines required) and often initiate interaction with the gentle seafarers aboard.
