BEGINNING BAND CLASS

will start on Tuesday September 3, 2024, at Home Moravian Church. Sponsored jointly with Salem Congregation, Beginning Band Class will once again be offered
under the leadership of Robah Ogburn and Connie Merritt. Each Tuesday night, the class will meet at 6:30pm for all ages 6th grade and up (we have had students starting in their 80’s). If you do not know what instrument you want to learn, the leaders will help you make that decision on the first night.

Remember, our Visitor Center holiday shop is open all this week (Tuesday to Saturday) from 10am to 4pm. Next week Tuesday to Friday (12/19-12/22).

Thank you everyone for coming out tonight! It was such a great time. Special thanks to Bethania Moravian Church, Reverend Joe Moore, Choir director Joshua Whitt, the Moravian Band, Mayor Brent Rocket and all the volunteers that helped make this a special time.

Come on down Sunday December 3rd for our Christmas shop grand opening starting at 12 noon.

Shop for gifts, tour the decorated Wolfe-Moser historical house and enjoy some hot cider and cookies. Stay around for the tree lighting at 5pm with the Bethania Moravian church band and sing some Christmas carols.

We have Moravian stars, beeswax candles, ornaments and many gift ideas.

ChristmasFest is an opportunity for you and your whole family to enjoy Salem, experience Christmas tastes and sounds, and immerse yourself in German and Moravian Christmas traditions. Modeled after the ever-popular German Christmas Markets (Christkindlmärkte), the festival will feature music, arts & crafts, gifts, Tannenbäume (Christmas trees), food and drink, as well as fun and festivities for all ages, including activities for children and a chance to meet Weihnachtsmann (Santa)! FYI. Had reports of a skunk on the Black Walnut Trail approaching walkers, trying to bite shoes and chasing walkers. We have contacted animal control and Sherriff and they have been out but have not seen it yet. It was seen around the first bench by Muddy Creek. Please be aware.
