New signs for our winter visitors....If We dont get much rain between now,and freeze up the mines should be interesting this winter both mines have very low water levels at the present time..

This was a great thank you from the Cresent Park School fourth grade class.
We loved their letters and cards a nice ending to a long season at the mines.
And Roger ,Tim and I would like to say thank you to all of you who came to visit us this season. We didn’t always find treasure but once again we try to offer an authentic rock hounding experience, some mining history, a look at the mines and a great view and of course digging !
Thank you again for your business it was our pleasure , we are looking forward to next season…

The fourth grade class from Crescent Park School in Bethel came to visit 28 kids and three teachers …We had a great time ,lots of questions. They walked up then dug at No2 and this picture was take at No 1 , LOOK OUT FOR THE KRAKEN!
What a great group of kids we were excited to have them visit!

If you’re wondering how to schedule a visit to the Wheeler Mica mines
you will need to go to our website wheelermicamines.com and then go to the contact page . I recommend using your iPad or laptop as opposed to your phone, the website is better on one of those. If you are using your phone there are three bars in the upper right hand corner of the landing page ,click on those in it should take you to the rest of the site..
It’s pretty simple fill the contact page and then submit , please let me know what day you would like to visit and how many adults and children whether you want to just dig or take the tour and dig…..
We are open Thursday through Sunday by scheduled visit only.
I will email you back asap confirming I was able to schedule for the day you chose … or offer you another day.
Our site opens at 9 am and I meet people in the parking area ,I don’t schedule mid day or afternoon tours …
I rarely read emails after 9 pm and any that are sent after 9 get read the next morning. Because of the setup we have for visiting the dig site and mine it is hard to schedule on short notice …but if there is an opening I will try to contact you..
This year we have made a change an are allowing people with four wheel or all wheel drive vehicles to drive up to the mine , at their own risk…
We like to keep the number of visitors on site low to make your visit a truly enjoyable and authentic “rock hounding “ experience ….so space is limited
