Big Bear Mountain Resort has the best conditions of the season after 11+ feet of new snow from last week's storm. Today you can expect perfectly groomed corduroy snow on all 58 open trails. Sunny skies with day temps near mid-40Fs are expected through tomorrow before rain mixed with snow is expected Friday through Saturday morning.

San Bernardino County Storm Response has announced that Hwy 18 between Lucerne Valley and Big Bear will be open to all vehicle traffic starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday night.

Hwy 18 will remain closed at the Big Bear Dam and the Arctic Circle.

Hwy 18 at Upper Waterman will remain open to residents only, and Hwy 330 at City Creek is also open under the same restrictions.

Major snow is in the forecast for Big Bear! A series of very cold Pacific storms will impact the area later this week bringing strong gusty winds, frigid temperatures and the potential for significant snowfall. Expect a nice start to the week under mostly sunny skies today with highs in the mid to upper 40's, windy turning southwesterly 5-15 mph during the afternoon. We'll keep the forecast dry through Tuesday, though clouds and winds will be on the increase throughout the day as highs reach the 40's. Our first, weaker storm will arrive Tuesday night with snow showers likely into Wednesday. This system will be accompanied by very strong westerly winds with gusts to 60 mph possible. The snow level will lower to around 3,000 feet with 2-4 inches of snow possible . We should get a little break between storms later Wednesday into early Thursday ahead of a powerful winter storm that should move through later Thursday into Friday. This storm will also be accompanied by gusty winds, though not as strong as storm #1, but much deeper moisture and colder air. The snow level could fall as low as 1,500 feet with the potential for at least 8-10 inches of snow with localized amount of 1-2 feet possible.
