Journey to Earthquake Lake, a haunting reminder of Montana's history.
Located a little over an hour from Big Sky, the Earthquake Lake Visitor Center (summer hours only) stands as a powerful reminder of the 1959 earthquake. This quake triggered a massive landslide that claimed 28 lives and created the eerily beautiful Earthquake Lake. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the tragic event.
