HEY, HEY, HEY!!! Tax Season will OFFICIALLY KICK OFF January 29, 2024, which is when the IRS will start processing tax returns. (see 1st pic)
However, tax returns that claim EIC (Earned Income Credit: The big money taxpayers receive for claiming dependents) will begin processing on Feb. 15, 2024 due to the PATH ACT. (see 2nd pic)
Remember, refunds are normally issued within 7-21 days from the date the IRS Accepts the tax return for processing. So returns that start processing on Jan. 29, 2024 can expect to receive their refunds between Feb. 5, 2024-Feb. 19, 2024 and returns that have EIC/ACTC that start processing on Feb. 15, 2024 can expect to receive their refunds between Feb. 22, 2024 - March 7, 2024.
