K's Canastas

The Tarahumara are a Native American people who inhabit The Copper Canyon region of Chihuahua Mexico, a vast network of canyons that rival the United States' Grand Canyon in size. The art of basket weaving is a tradition that is passed down from mother to daughter. Using split leaves of the Palmetta plant and the needles of the Apache Pine, the women start by weaving very small baskets and in time

work their way up to larger and more complex patterns and designs as the basket become more proficient. K's Canastas is dedicated to bringing the fine arts and crafts of The Tarahumara women to Bisbee Arizona, as well as their beautifully rich culture. We personally travel to the small villages that surround The Copper Canyon and hand select everything ourselves.
