Triple Ridge Sporting Spaniels specializes in the training of all flushing and retrieving dogs.
Owner Ralph Botti specializes in the custom training of all flushing breeds. With over 40 years of experience, he firmly believes in positive reinforcement and basic obedience as a foundation for every dogs individual training. Ralph understands that every dog requires their own unique training methods, which is why a custom program will be designed for the needs of the owner and the dog. Training
services can range anywhere from basic obedience, to hunt tests, to a fully finished hunting companion, to a competitive field trial dog. Along with training services, Triple Ridge Sporting Spaniels offers champion stud services for English Springer Spaniels and English Cockers. Occasional litters of puppies, along with started and finished gun dogs, are available as well.
The Central Connecticut Club sponsored the first summer/fall trial of the season. Hot temperatures and heavy cover made for a challenging day, but happy some of my gang was able to pull through. We placed first and second with Blizzard and Zoey, which made Blizzard a new field champion! Congrats to Gary and Cindy Wilson of Sunrise Kennels with the other two placements

We had some good runs last weekend at the Valley Forge Trial! On Saturday Reggie won the open, Sandy took second and Charlie placed second in the puppy stake.
On Sunday, Sandy got the blue ribbon, and Charlie got second and Sassy third both in the puppy stake. It was tough, windy, rainy conditions in thorny fields but a few of the gang rose to the occasion, and overall a great weekend!
We had a good trial at Central New England placing 4th with Zoey and 2nd with Chase.
And at the NJ Cocker trial this past weekend we had a good run with Reggie and Charlie placing 2nd and 4th in the puppy stake.
And, a shout out to Dawn for taking 2nd with Toula and Faye for placing 4th with Robbie in the Amateur stake as well!
We had an amazing week at the 2022 U.S. Cocker National in Pinckneyville, Illinois. Unbelievable field of competitors, truly one of the most competitive Nationals I have ever been involved in.
Out of 72 dogs, 18 got to the water series and all 18 passed with flying colors, 18 back to the 5th series and not one dog eliminated itself, including FC Triple Ridge’s Little Minnie Joy, who had a great run and finished strong. Amazing competition!
Great grounds, nice weather, and excellent guns. The tough competition didn’t make it easy on the two judges, Mike Wallace and Mark Mercie, who did an outstanding job sorting out excellent dog work.
A big shout out to everyone involved in putting on this event. All said and done, coming back to NJ with the blue ribbon for this year’s 2022 National Champion and 2022’s U.S. High Point Open dog, Fallen Wings Cassandra of Triple Ridges “Sandy”, is something I never thought would be possible.
I am humbled by the support of all of my spaniel friends and family all over the U.S. and Canada. A special thanks to Rumi and Mike Schroeder for breeding Sandy, to Barry and Faye Littlewood for believing in me with their little white dog, and my training group for always putting up with me!
Years of hard work go into winning a National, and they are far and few between. It’s been 28 years since my last National win. And I’ve got to say, it feels damn good!
Great couple of weekends! We competed in Western NY for a two day cocker trial.
Taking 1st on Friday with Rosie which finished her championship. Winning guns award & 2nd place with Sandy on Friday and 1st place & guns award on Saturday, and also placing Toula 3rd both days.
At the Patriot Cocker trial, Joy placed 1st & received the guns award.👏
Great weekend at the Cocker Club of America in New York State. Flip flopping 1st & 2nd place with old time friend Pete Rizzo and his dog Daisy along with Faye & Barry Littlewood’s little white dog Sandy.
Also a shout out to Roy Hart aka Uncle Elmo for taking 2nd place in the Amateur stake with Triple Ridges Charlee Brown!

Great close to the season at the Maine Cocker trial in North Conway, NH this past weekend! We took first on Saturday with FC Fallen Wings Cassandra of Triple Ridge ‘Sandy’, and on Sunday, Sandy placed third and we won with new champion FC Triple Ridges Master Robinson ‘Robbie!’ It was great seeing a bunch of old friends and enjoying the white mountains.
Congratulations to Triple Ridge’s Roseate Tern “Rosie” placing first in her first ever open stake this past weekend at the English Cocker Spaniel Club of America in Pine Bush, NY!
Looks like owner Dawn Smith has another good one on her hands!

We attended two Mid-Atlantic Spaniel Club trials in Glen Rock, PA this past weekend. Had some great runs with dogs and ended up placing second in both trials and receiving the guns award on Sunday with FC Fallen Wings Cassandra of Triple Ridge ‘Sandy’.
Showing amazing consistency at a year and a half old having placed or won in the last 6 competitions for 2022. Way to go little white dog!
The dogs may enjoy it but I’m looking forward to getting out of the snow and heading south for some Spring trials next week!
We had a great weekend in Cheraw, South Carolina, where I was one of the senior judges on the panel for the AKC judging seminar and also ran in two trials, all hosted by the Wateree Spaniel Club.
We ended up placing 4th and receiving the guns award on Saturday with Fallen Wings Cassandra of Triple Ridges ‘Sandy,’ which completed her AKC field championship and then she followed it up with a win on Sunday.
Overall a great weekend with a really nice turnout for the seminar. And it was nice to get away from the winter weather for a few days!

Finishing up this year with 3rd place in the U.S. Cocker National at the Johnson property in Oldwick, NJ with Ripples, owner Rumi Schroeder! Also finished up placing high point eastern open dog with Toula, owner Dawn Smith and high point national puppy with Alphie, owner Rumi Schroeder.
A spectacular event from start to finish. Extremely challenging cover and a true test for all participants. A special shout out to all my clients whose dogs I had the pleasure of competing with this year and a huge congrats to all the finishing dogs.
Had a great time up in Maine this past weekend. On Saturday, we finished Toula's Open Championship, took second with Robbie in the Open and won the puppy stake with Rosie.
On Sunday, we won the Open with Sandy. Makes for an easy drive home! Always a pleasure seeing my New England friends!
We’re sad to share that our 14 year old Jenny girl passed today. She was an AFC/FC, received CM’s in two Nationals and had three litters, of which many went on to be successful champions themselves.
She was an incredible bird dog in her youth and has been part of our family her entire life. It’s never easy saying goodbye, she will be sorely missed.
Almost three feet of snow here in Jersey, and the dogs are loving it. Hope everyone is staying safe and warm!
Spent the weekend in North Carolina competing at the annual cocker trial earning a 1st and the Gunner’s award with Triple Ridge’s Little Minnie Joy “Joy” which made her a new field champion, and also took the blue with Absolute’s It’s All About Alfie of Fallen Wings “Alfie” in the puppy stake. An awesome time with good friends and great weather, and now headed back north to the snow!
