Happy Monday! This absolute hammer of a 6x6 showed up about an hour ago on one of my farms following a hot doe. 🔨🦌 My last bowhunter for the year is guiding rifle hunters in northern MO at the moment, so he can’t get in here to hunt until at least Wednesday. Wish us luck!

The double split G2 buck was there last night but came in from a neighbor’s property we never knew he went onto. Wouldn’t have known without a camera there. Seems to be a hot doe around there, so maybe he’ll make a mistake in daylight today. We are currently hunting the big 7x8 on another property, and we saw a big deer just on our cattle pasture neighbor through the fog with a doe. Not sure if it was the 7x8 or another mature deer though. Tough hunting!

This buck went downwind on my hunter this morning and was 8yds from the tree. Dead to rights if he was a bit bigger. Picked my hunter off getting the hole to video. Hope he avoids the orange army and makes it another year! #mdloutfitters #iowawhitetails

More bucks cruising/seeking than the last two weeks for us, somehow. What a weird rut this year!

Oooooh, I want this one mounted. Never having shot one before, I may have to go try… 🐱

We have had 2-4 encounters of shooters per hunter thus far with the shots taken being less than ideal on the outcome side. Yet, it’s videos like this that remind me of why I love doing this. Southern Iowa and Mother Nature sure are special together. I am obviously biased.
