The warmer weather in northern Illinois has gotten people calling about cleaning and checking their air conditioners.

Today I got a call from a woman in Alaska asking me when I was scheduled to come out.

That was a very interesting wrong number.

This will be a good week for you to test out how well your air conditioner is working.

An air conditioner shouldn't need to be "topped off" with refrigerant. If an air conditioner is low on refrigerant, it has a leak.

I always warn my customers before recharging their air conditioner that the refrigerant could leak all out right away. 💸

Often an air conditioner that is low on refrigerant needs the indoor coil replaced because due to a bunch of tiny holes in it.

I’ve been encountering a lot of birds this Spring.

I got called out to look at an air conditoner because it wasn't cooling. Their unit froze up because the air filter was L O N G overdue for a change. I wanted to take a picture of the filthy for you to see, but the owner did not give me permission to do so.

This was next to me today by an air conditioner I was working on. #Spring

The covers flapping in the breeze got my attention. Someone ripped the copper out of some of these units. #coppertheft #hvac

I got to watch jets fly above me while working on rooftops today. I even saw one abort its landing. Too bad I didn't get a video of that.

Do you have a 90% furnace (exhaust & intake done in PVC)? You may need to clear snow and ice away from the intake before your furnace quits, if it hasn't quit already. The extreme cold has caused many furnaces to stop working because of lack of oxygen. #cold #furnace #deadfurnace
