The Summit: A Hiking and Backpacking Conference for Women

The Summit is a hiking and backpacking conference for women that takes place bi-annually. The next one is July 15-17, 2018 at Western Carolina University.

The Summit is a three-day hiking and backpacking conference that includes hiking seminars, how-to classes, panel discussions on women’s hiking and hands-on workshops. We are celebrating women on the trails everywhere and our goal is to educate and inspire women so that they will spread the love of hiking and backpacking. While the Trail Dames are hosting the conference, The Summit is for everyone

from the woman that has only walked around her block to the triple-crowner. Not only will you meet other women just like you, but you will all share and learn from each other, making great friends and meeting future hiking partners in the process. I am excited beyond belief!!!! Not only is the Trail Dames Summit happening this summer, but our Key Note Speaker for Saturday night is none other than Marina LeGree, the Founder of Ascend!! Her amazing organization empowers young women in Afghanistan and Pakistan through mountaineering-based leadership training and community service.
