About Gayle
Gayle Kiley has been painting for over 30 years; she received her degree in art from Bridgewater State College and continued her art studies Mass College of Art. She has studied portrait art with Robert Cormier at his Fenway Studio in Boston, MA. She is continually interested in growing as an artist and enjoys taking seminars from accomplished contemporaries such as Sergio Roffo, Marga
ret Carter Baumgaertner, Peggy Kroll Roberts, Daniel Greene, Mark Carter, Everett Raymond Kinsler and John Sanders. She is inspired by work of John Singer Sargent, and she learns best by painting detailed studies of his work and that of other early 19th century impressionists. She paints primarily in oil with an impressionistic feel for color and light. Gayle’s work is representational, she enjoys painting Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard landscapes but has a passion for portraiture and painting people and figures in light and shadow. Originally from Quincy she has also lived in South Boston and Norwell , Massachusetts. She now lives and paints in her home studio on Falmouth Harbor in Cape Cod, MA. and works primarily by commission. She spent several years painting and selling her work in Martha’s Vineyard and her paintings are among the collection of many island lovers. Gayle belongs to the Falmouth Art Association and the North River Art Association. She is currently self-represented and you can see her work and get more information online at www.gaylekiley.blogspot.com.
