āDid you know that an incoming MD is only required to have 2 hours of training in nutrition?
Or that our current āhealth careā system was based off of acute (wartime) injuries?
This is our ānormalā.
We arenāt taught about preventative measure to take care of our health before it gets to a state of dis-ease.
We arenāt taught to detoxify the body and clear it seasonally like many cultures do.
We arenāt even taught how to be intuitive with our food consumption and instead, with our food-like products, our senses and cravings get hijacked.
We are taught that itās ānormalā to be too busy to sit down and eat and take the time to nurture our bodies when it is time to do so.
We are constantly on the go, letting our cravings become so far gone that eventually we crave the worst and quickest releasing energy foods and drinks which stress out the body even more.
We arenāt taught that food can be a chronic exposure to toxins and cause things like oxidative stress- furthering later to be a collection of chronic conditions down the road.
We arenāt taught to balance our blood sugar and how important that is to stabilize all hormones.
We arenāt taught that food can either perpetuate a condition or cure it.
We are looked at sideways if we ask what is in our food in restaurants or events.
We arenāt guided on how to eat to get certain vitamins and minerals when we show signs of deficiencies.
But it doesnāt have to be this way.
We know that this āsystemā isnāt working.
We know that food is such a huge part of the solution when it comes to regaining health.
There is certainly an awakening that I am seeing and I am HERE FOR IT!
If you can change one thing today, reevaluate the food that you are consuming. Buy organic, seasonal, local if possible. Consume less and less processed, more whole, REAL foods. Buy from the clean 15 list. Make sure your food supply isnāt adding to your inflammation and chronic conditions.
Never underestimate the small changes when it comes to working on your food quality, these incremental changes are the ones that actually āstickā. āØā
