2024- WHAT A YEAR!!!

Sales- I achieved my highest sales ever as a travel advisor at $1 million in 2024!! 🎉🥳🎉🥳
I never dreamed when I started in this industry in 2021 that I’d be here, but it’s thanks to the wonderful support of all the women at and all of my amazing clients who refer me to others and keep calling for their travel needs.

New destinations: I explored new to me destinations like Costa Rica to learn more and bring that knowledge home to benefit my clients.

Making memories: I made memories traveling with the people I love the most helping them mark special occasions and cross items of their bucket lists!

2024 was full of personal and professional growth, and I can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store!!

On the best days, my job looks like this first picture.

On the average day, my job looks like the second picture.
The last few days have been full of logistics- storm tracking, figuring out handicap access on European trains, speaking with private guides in Europe, updating quotes, talking logistics with suppliers, and sending out the last of my traveler’s fall break documents.

Can’t have one without the other though!

I’ve been quiet on here lately, but trust me, life hasn’t been quiet! Get ready for some travel spam the next few weeks.

One thing I’ve been working on is a BIG SURPRISE for one of my favorite clients and people- my mom! Her 65th birthday was a few days ago, and I’ve been scheming on this one for a while with my Dad and husband. Now that she knows, I can tell everyone. We’re completing her #1 country and #1 bucket list trip next spring- Scotland!

We’ve seen part of the country on a previous trip, and she was dying to go back and see the rest. And why not now? Life is short, and we’re going to go live it!

Reasons why I’ve posted nearly nothing on social media in July: See attached graph.

You all. I’m not sure how. I definitely wasn’t expecting it, but July was my biggest sales month EVER as a travel adviser. This job continues to surprise me and teach me something new every day.

To anyone starting something new, I post this to say… keep hustling. If you have passion and work hard, you can do it.

But for real, here’s to a little more work/life balance now that the kids are back in school. And maybe a nap?!?
(Who am I kidding though? I have 6 quotes to do and a list of house projects to work on. Maybe next month… 🤪)

One my travel hacks with kids: They’re only as excited as you make them. Be your kid’s travel hype man!

Going to Disney? Watch all the movies that correspond with rides so they’ll be excited and understand what they’re seeing.

Going on a cruise? Show them what a cruise ship looks like and what’s on board.

Going to a city or historical site? Get kids books or watch kids youtube videos about your destination. The more they learn the more they’ll understand and be excited to see it when they get there.

We’re doing DC with my parents next week after my annual travel conference in the area. The public library & summer reading supplied our hype material this week!

Will they remember it all? Probably not but I will. Their childhood is also my motherhood. We’re going to enjoy it! ♥️✌🏻

Side effect of the day job: Hotel crushes

Other advisors in our agency have used this property for clients, but it just hasn’t been the right fit for any of mine until this spring. I found some good last minute rates and they jumped on it. They arrive in a few days after stops at Lake Maggiore and in Rome.

I mean a rooftop pool in Florence with THAT view? It almost brings a tear to my eye.

Remember those special perks I mentioned in my previous post? Prime example: I just booked 4 rooms for a cruise in January 2026 for some repeat clients. They’ll be sailing in the sun while we freeze here. ☀️

They saved $650 PER ROOM!

How?!?

I have access to group rates only available to travel agents. I could book them under that rate vs. the market rate listed on Royal Caribbean’s website.

Yet another reason to use a travel professional for something “easy” like a cruise that you could potentially book yourself.

Happy Global Travel Advisor Appreciation Day!

Why is it important to use a travel advisor?
- Expertise- I do this day in and day out. I know airline tips and tricks. I know ideal locations and properties. I have in country suppliers I can partner with who are in destination. I know the ins and outs of complicated reservation systems for must see sights (Disney, Italy, Paris, etc.).
- Experience- I regularly travel to the destinations I sell!
- Curation- I can plan anything you dream up. I take your preferences and curate the perfect itinerary for you. It’s not generic. It’s personal!
- Savings- I have access to sales and perks via my supplier relationships. Not only can I save you money, but I can save you time and stress.
- Unique options- I have access to so many vendors with experiences you might not think of booking on your own.
- Continuing education- Anytime I travel I’m trying and touring new to me properties, excursions, tours, and restaurants not only for my enjoyment but so I can gain knowledge for my clients. I also regularly attend supplier webinars and an annual conference for education.

What’s one of my favorite parts of travel? FOOD!

Every area of the world has a dish or type of cuisine they specialize in, and to me, that’s one of the most important parts of travel. Diving in and experiencing something that’s different yet delicious. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Some of my favorite things I’ve eaten standing up on the street!

I’ll never forget the first time I had gelato in Florence. The meal the Italian chef/Italian grandma cooked for us at our honeymoon villa in Positano was so simple yet so mind blowing. If I could recreate any meal I’ve ever had, it would probably be that one. Lately I’ve been dreaming of the pizza I had the last time I was in NYC. It was unexpectedly perfect. Fruit tarts on the Greek islands… Dole Whip at Disney… fresh bread and crepes in Paris… Indian and Thai food in London. I could go on forever!

I get antsy especially when it comes to travel. I don’t often want to go back to the same places let alone the same restaurants. There’s too much to see and do! Too many things to try! But if I want to go back and eat the same food at the same restaurant again, that’s the highest form of a compliment from me.

There are so many ways to make travel memories. What will make a trip memorable for you?

April 2024: My biggest month EVER as a travel agent.

I had large groups at all inclusives and on cruises for spring break. Multiple couples are traveling to Italy and Hawaii this month. Families have enjoyed Mexico and Disney World.
