🥬Manatee calves are born underwater and can swim within an hour.
🥬 Despite small eyes, they see well but must turn their whole body to look behind them.
🥬 Manatees have great hearing, even without visible ears.
🥬They constantly replace their 24–32 molars.
🥬 Manatees surface to breathe every 3-4 minutes, longer when resting.
🥬 Manatees eat up to 15% of their body weight daily

🥬Manatees are mammals, and their closest relative is the elephant.
🥬Manatees move at a relaxing speed of about 5mph
🥬Manatees can consume from 4 to 9 percent of its body weight in vegetation daily.
🥬Manatees also known as “Sea Cows” spend up to 8 hours a day eating.
🥬Manatees are protected by the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA).
